Alonso is the daddy of F1, now that Schumacher is gone. In the past a lot of the champions have been "tools". Senna was a very difficult person. Mansell, Prost, Piquet and Irvine all had run-ins with him. I guess, because he is dead, all that is forgotten?

Corking drive so far, given that it was a mechanical failure that put him back so far. With the mistake he made he would have been up there again already.

Yes. The first lap was very explosive and was from a standing start. The guy was obviously nervous. Now that he is moving and in the zone, its a lot easier to keep the ship going. Also, by the time he hits the front runners, he will know the best places to overtake.

Agreed. Unless he bins it, or the gearbox gives up the ghost entirely, I still think he'll do it with laps to spare.

Yeah its no big deal to get 4th. All the others are nowhere near the pace of the maccas and ferraris.
