we got lucky this weekend and it was a good decision to take of gerrard when he took him i thought what is he doing but he got the decision correct so well done Rafa

He did didnt he, im sure Reina was sent of something like that last season, but he didnt actually handle the ball outside the box, it just looked like he did.

He may of been sent off, but he wasn't sent off for handling outside the area when kicking from hand. (whether he handled it or not is irrelevant as that was what the punishment was for)

Handling outside the area is not always a red card.

I don't know about that but I'm sure I remember him getting booked for carrying the ball out of the area when he was kicking it.

If he'd been well inside his area why would he have been penalised?

You can argue that you believe he was in his area but if he'd not been close to the edge (which a lot of people had pointed out he'd been doing for weeks) he wouldn't have been penalised for it.

He was penalised because the officials weren't looking and were influenced by the crowd. The replay showed (as at the time there was a close up of Diouf) that he was 3-4 yards inside his area. I'll upload a clip to youtube later and you can see for yourself.

Yep. He always releases the ball inside the box but his momentum usually carries him over the line when he kicks it. Nothing wrong with doing that unless you've got dodgy linesmen.
 
Hahaha, 3 or 4 yards? 4 yards is over 3.5 metres. Thats over 11 feet. Thats more than half of the penalty area away from the line.

Are you sure?

isn't the penalty area 18 yards? :confused: which makes half the area 9 yards so im not sure how 3-4 yards is over half the area :)

Like i said above, 3-4 yards was ott but he's still around 2 yards inside his area as he's released the ball so it wasn't really close.
