Found this VW Golf 1.9 GT TDi on Autotrader, looks a good deal to me ?

My mate payed £5500 for a T reg with 60k city miles on it same spec as above

they are very expensive and hold their value well but an excellent engine - probs the best at the time

I wouldn't want the 110 though, 150 is the only one I found to be worth driving.

ive driven a 150 ps was a bit rough, the 130 is much nicer and remaps better

the 110 gt tdi non pd can be re-mapped to 170 bhp and 240+ lbft

still not worth 7 grand, 6 yeh

The PD (150) can remapped for silly BHPs and even sillier amounts of torque, that'd be the one I'd go for if in the offing for a diesel Golf, Revo or AmD for remaps if memory serves.

You drove a lemon tbh, I found the 150 and the 130 had the same "smoothness" (neither are smooth), and the 150 appears to remap just as well if not better.

umm not sure tbh my mate is a gt tdi fanatic, knows every engine ect hes always prefered the 130 pd.

Bearing in mind that im under 25 and i cant go anything above group 11 insurance really otherwise it will start taking the money down on what i actually spend on the car itself.

Im on a budget.

If someone finds me the same car with the same price and milage then please let me know :)

Yes really you can swap the turbo for the 2.5 TDI one i believe amongst other things they are widely regarded as the best diesel engine for tuning

I wouldnt need to swap the engine, most i would probably do with it is re-map it.

Very overpriced imho.

I just put a deposit down for a Fabia TDi today, cost me £3500 (2001 with 61k) same spec really. Insurance group is 5/6 for mine too, and with a remap goes to 140bhp.

There's a T reg golf tdi around here with 99k, at £2500.

Unless you happen to live inside the grounds of Strangeways, I see no reason at all that a 25 year old can't reasonably insure higher insurance groups than that.

I'm 24 and only paying £660 on a group 17 car.

is it that price because its 'low mileage'?

gf's sis got a 2000 X 20vt with leather, winter pack, the other important bits and 120k miles for £3.7k. comfy car to drive etc perfect if youre a girl
