Ok guys, whats the best I can get for under £100, modular would be preferable, but not necessary if it means a better PSU.

Thanks

Paul

Well i think i would go for 650W SilverStone OP650, Single + 12Vrail with 54A. Retails for approx £95, OcUK don't stock Silverstone psu's though.

There is a modular version too but thats a tad over £100.

Big single 12v rail for the win.

The Modstream only has 28A on the 12v rail and just wont let me push past XT clocks on the 2900 Pro. The XT really neads a minimum of 30A, so the Modstream is really being pushed.

All the more reason for a BIG single 12v rail, the gfx card, or anything for that matter, an suck as much power as they want from the 12v rail without it drooping, assuming its less than 54 amps in the case of the OP650.

I'd get a seasonic or a silverstone. I know corsairs are supposedly made by seasonic, but i suspect they are more cheaply made, otherwise they would be seasonic branded.

There is no supposedly about it and the internal components and design are every bit as high quality as those found in Seasonic's own units. The PC Power & Cooling 750w Silencer is also made by Seasonic yet using your logic and judging by its price, it simply has to be inferior quality right?

EDIT - To answer the original question, the best choice would be the Corsair hx620w although as pointed out, the 520w version would comfortably run your system.

The Corsair HX PSUs have a big single rail as well, although they are labelled as multi-rail there is no internal limiting as such that means if any one rail was overloaded then it essentially reverts to being a single rail PSU. The JonnyGuru review covers this better than I can. :)

I'm actually tempted with the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad PCI-E 750W PSU when it's back in stock, looks superb :)

PC power and cooling are great. But you really dont need 825w with a 750w minimum. When people say get the 520w corsair tahts because your probably going to get about 480w from it. You will definitly get 750w as pc power and cooling ratetheir minimum watage not the maximum. Thats a lot mo watts then you need unless your going sli or crossfire.

Well as I say chap, its more about being used for the next few years, so I'd rather get something that will last me a few rigs down the line.
