New Radiohead album

Seems good - First impression was very good and I'm the sort who needs multiple listen throughs before an album really grows on me. So I imagine in a week or so I'll really really be loving this.

Paid a tenner for it, a fair bit more than I would normally want to pay for a download album, but mostly in the hopes that success will make them and other artists release albums in a similar way again.

I spent ~2 hours playing my acoustic renditions of radiohead songs last night.

Makes me depressed and elated at the same time. Music like this just can't be expressed in words.

I find that really strange. It doesn't make me feel anything as I am just generally quite happy and I could never get depressed by a song.

Sadly I don't think radio will ever return to there roots with a pablo honey or bends style recording instead the have opted to disapear up there own bottoms with an increasing array of none sensical giberish. OK computer* was an interesting but ultimately disapointing diversion but everything from there on is utter pap, I'll listen to this at some point but I hold out no hope what so ever as sadly the radiohead that I fell in love with have long since died.

*Please don't tell me how ok computer is the greatest album in history and that i'm missing the point I knows what I like and this simply isn't it, oh and for the record Nevermind is the greatest album in history.

Oh dear god, just when I thought your post couldn't get any worse you come out with that last line. Wow, just wow.

Thanks glad you appreciate it, it even normally gets into the top ten in best album ever charts in the music press along side the much vauted OK Computer so your mock shock is somewhat unbelievable. The rest of my post is based on opinion and therefore its validity cannot be questioned.:o

Oh.dear.

"Sadly I don't think radio will ever return to there roots with a pablo honey" = funniest sentence uttered in the music forum this year!!

Nevermind is a great album, and so is The Bends, but bands move on. Radiohead have been getting better and better with every album.

I only wish I agreed with you Radiohead in the early days (I still say pablo honey is there best album) were fantastic and ok computer at least showed some progression but after that it's just been experiments in noise for me to the point where after the thief album I honestly thought they would anounce it was all a big joke. A little bit of me dies every time they release a new album as I vainly hope for what could have been...

What other music do you like out of interest!?

I think you're pretty much on your own there.

I have an eclectic taste! Everything from the already mentioned Nirvana and Radiohead to some classic Ottis. My CD collection contains pretty much evything excluding RAP HIP hop and RNB type stuff. I guess I lean heavily towards guitar music which is probably why I'm not a big fan of the later Radiohead stuff as they pretty much ditched the guitar band sound.

for the record I'm not on my own I know dozens of people wo wish Radiohead would release on last album in there earlier style and I'm sure there will be a few on here as well just most peole won't say it as criticising Radiohead is a bit like knock mother teressa!

EVEN NORMALLY gets into top ten in best album ever charts! Really? Wow. Sorry, it looks like I forgot about the music press (I'm guessing you mean...hmmm...Q...NME...Rolling Stone...etc?) creating decent best album ever charts. Oh wait, they don't. And for your information, I don't think OK Computer is the best Radiohead album either so stop throwing it around as if it is.

Oh and I'm loving "pretty much evything excluding RAP HIP hop and RNB type stuff". You really don't sound like someone who has a clue about...well..anything really.
