Whos ditching 8800 for new rev?

Cant see it only costing you only a fiver to sell it on fleabay, they will fleece you, + the hassle, I'd go for 150 on mm.

If this card is better than the 640mb gts for £140 this has so many implications on the rest of the market i don't know where to begin really.
Simply put every cards price has to drop,the 8600gts the 8600 gt the 2900 pro the list is endless the 8800gts 640 will have to fall from £200-£270 to less than £140 the gtx will have to be around £160-£170 if it's only 10 fps on average faster than a GT !.

This is a really exciting card and two weeks waiting to see how all the cards land, i personally lap things like this up and right now i couldn't care less about the GT it's the thought of paying £150 for a second hand gtx that is making my mouth water.

Or the flip side, prices don't change and thousands upon thousands of cards remain unsold and make their way to silicon heaven.
I have never seen cards not priced in order of performance, although there may be a few exceptions i think in general price brackets match what a card can do.
This is like intel suddenly releasing a quad core 4ghz stock for £100.

It might still go up on the mm yet but with it up for £170 + £10 postage I would need much more than £150 on the mm to be better off. Early days yet but already 16 watchers (people wanting to sell their 8800 GTS :p)

If you sell it £170 BIN + £10 on the bay it will cost a little under £15 to sell including the paypal fees.

So it would have to sell at £165 Incl. on MM to get the same value. Either way you're looking at £7.80 to post it RMSD and with a Paypal transaction you'll wait 7-10 days to get the cash out.

Of course, the real reason you have to sell it on the bay is that no-one on MM would buy it at £150 at the moment;)

Paypal fees about £5? I got my 2900 up on the bay for £175 starting bid and £195 but it now, should I lower the buy it now?

Nope if it sells it will cost me £10.65

I'll make 2.19 on the postage so net selling price will be just over £161

Therefore would have to sell on MM for close to £169 including postage to match.

In saying that somebody bought one yesterday for £165 inc delivery so there are people on mm who will go that high.:eek:

I know this is ditch 8800 for GT/GTS/GTX but do you think I should punt my nearly 2 week old 2900Pro for one of the new ones? (8800GT/GTS or HD38xx).

I'm running a friends 8800GTX right now and it's scoring the same as my 2900Pro in 3DMark06. Gaming is the same also. My CPU and RAM are holding both of them back :(. I will be upgrading my system after the year though and would like to own the card that will release the most raw power for my gaming from a CPU/Motherboard/RAM upgrade.

Never seena bottleneck that bad, the GTS is way ahead of the 2900 so wow one big bottleneck :o.

I would sell your 2900 and get an 8800GT but will your mobo support it? and any point if you got bottleneck?
