So today I hit 30 years of age.
And I feel i've not really achieved much :(
Still living with the parents, holding down a 13.5K per year job. (university education doesn't gaurantee hugely paid job)

meh.

Happy birthday!

What are your ambitions?
I'm guessing you want to change your job?
What did you study at University?

Oh and happy birthday. :)

Ambitions, I don't appear to have any but seem to be just drifting like a fart in the wind

Regarding job change, I work in wildlife rehab. Not well paid at all. But i'd miss it if I gave it up

And you'll never guess what I studied at University?

I don't want to sound harsh... but it can't be that bad! You would have done something about it if it was.
If you can't cope on 13.5k, you'd have got a new job, if you wanted out you could have got your own place!
As long as you stay happy, and keep a goal in mind.
Happy Birthday!

You've not achieved much. What do you want to achieve?

Want to get a gf/get married?
Get a >20k job?
Get your own place?

Each of those are goals. Pick one, and go for it.

Good luck!

g/f? Nope.
> 20K jobs don't exactly grow on trees.
Own place? The way house prices are going even with a 20K job it wouldn't be possible.

Sod it all :(

You don't want a relationship? To start a family? To raise your own legacy? I crave this stuff and have done since I was 18.

£20K jobs are all around, you just have to be motivated enough to want them. Personally, by 30 years old I want to be on coming up to (or surpassing) £40k.

My own place goes with the above two.

I don't think you need goals at the moment, you just need to realise that IF (i'm not saying you are, but its certainly coming across like that) you are unhappy, YOU and only YOU can do something about it.

Happy birthday fella. I turned 31 recently, hated my 30th as i felt that i was required to grow up. However, i soon realised that i had to do that at 19 when i became a father and acquired a mortgage!
