Best "Scarey" Film.

I was only ever scared of films when i was really young. I think, IT, The Shining and Psycho 2 were the only ones that creeped me out.

My mum said the scariest film she ever watched was the exorcist, so i watched it and ended up nearly falling asleep.

Ju-on: The Grudge was the last film I saw which had the right sort of tension and build up. As much as I love these films they rarely scare me like this one has, The Ring especially was such a let down :(

Scariest film probs be Blair Witch Project, was just a great set up with the amateur camera and that.

but by FAR the scariest thing I have ever seen is Woman in Black in the theatre. I encourage anyone to go and watch that film and not **** themselves. Seriously.

Alien Abduction: The Mcpherson tape, scared the **** out of me, most alien based films do.

lol, is that the one where they see the lights in the woodlan, then that red light comes through the windows, and they are all crapping themselves in the front room?

Was laughing the whole way through that, it was pure comedy :D

As for scary films:

The Shining
The Ring

Get my vote.

Hack/slash gore fest films don't scare me at all, they are just either comical in their over-the-top-ness, or just grusome, but not scary.

Psychological thrillers are the way forward with scary films.

Though Blair Witch was terrible, it was just dull and very very very boring. Never got the big deal with that film.

Fire in the Sky sounds intresting, might have to give that a look up.

I have not been scared by a film since I was ten. The best horror movie I have seen of late would be Sixth sense or Stir of Echoes. I cant think of a good one this century so far. The Shining is my all time favourite.

The scariest films for me has to be the Alien series, especially the first. Saw it late at night when I was really young and it scared the hell out of me. Films these days just don’t cut it anymore.
