Whos ditching 8800 for new rev?

Still thinking of selling my GTX and getting GT. Depends on how much slower the GT is. But it would mean lower power consumption, less heat, and I could put some of the spare cash towards Q6600 - doing lots of video editing/encoding these days, so it would be handy.

Well it appears in Bioshock the 8800GT is performing at the rate of a nicely overclocked 8800GTS!!.

1680x1050 in Bioshock apparently.

Its just what a guy said on MSN, he's on this forum, but is there really any point saying? he only tested it in one game so aint exactly that accurate, only had 10 mins apparently.

It's just what I've heard, take it with a pinch of salt I guess, but damn I cant wait deffenitly getting an 8800GT!.

So easy, you went from an 8800GTX, to an 8800GTS and you going for an 8800GT?

Nice downgrade to upgrade there ;), would be good if you get similar performance with an 8800GT as you did with an 8800GTX :P

I sold my GTX for £349 2 months after I had it.

Then got a 320 GTS for £175 and sold that 3 months later for 15 quid less what i paid.

went back to 7300 GT ( as no games were out i wanted to play)

Then bought a 640 mb GTS for bioshock.

had that a month then sold it for 9 quid less than what I paid.

8800GT comes next:)

Even though its going to beat an 8800GTS it seems too good to be true, I mean it looks well less beefy than the 8800GTS and I dunno, just seems weird tbh.

I'm worried that I wont get one ordered before stock runs out, I wont be surprised if stock lasts more than 1 hours.

best be up and bashing ye olde f5 key then hadnt ye?

I'll be up at the crack of dawn, I'll go get a shower, get dressed, have some uncle bens rice for breakfast, then I'll jump into me chair and have me finger on the ready on the F5 key and Left Mouse Key :D.

i currently own an 8800gts 640, from bfg, it was one of the first 8800 gts cards that came out, but seeing how the 8800gt performs in benchmarks, and knowing that next month the upgraded 640 gts will arrive, would it be worth waiting till next month for this new version of the gts, or picking up a 2nd hand gtx, i recently upgraded to a 24 inch montor and the 640 gts was starting to feel the strain, so should i stick with what i have for another few weeks or go all out for a gtx

Wait until solid conclusive clarity is here about the gt first see what it does to the market whichever way you look you will make a loss on your gts if you have a backup card i would get your gts up for sale right now.

All this may just lead to the most expensive 8800gt not being a huge amount better than the 640mb card in gaming i have a [email protected] ghz and i clocked my 640 gts to 621/900 shader linked
and approached 11000 on 3dmark06 now when you look they tested these 8800gt on quads @3.6ghz puts some perspective on it.

If however it does prove to be much better than the gts cards in actual games then sell sell sell and get the gt as fast as possible !
As the gts price will plummet much more than the GT over the next month and by the time the new revision gts is out you'll be lucky to sell for £100.
Or put on ebay and wait for a fish.

my brother will probably end up getting my current gts for about #140.00 but i would love a gtx, is their any truth in the rumours of a new 65nm gtx coming out shortly ive had the 8800gts 640 for 9 months now and it was a great buy clocked at 630/1500/2000, played every game i own at a very good frame rate on my old lcd 1680x1050
btw my backup solution is a pair of 7900gt extreme editions (glad i kept them)

Crysis for one eats my 640mb card clocked to 650/2000 @ 1680-1050.Yes there's a new revision of GTS GTX coming.
None of this matters as you say your bro is getting the gts so just hang in there for monday see if all the hype holds water if it does i can't see the gtx staying at it's current price levels.
