I require the extensive experience of OcUK for advice on what to do in the 'dam during a weekend break away with the missus.

*Awaits the obligatory "sell her to brothel" comments :p*

Why would you take the missus to Amsterdam!
I was there last weekend with the missus, was very nice.

Day 1
Diamond Museum
Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
Canal Cruise
Red Light District
Coffee Shops/Bars

Day 2
Heineken Experience
Street Market
More Coffee Shop and Bars

Nether of us "smoke" a great deal anymore so you have to be careful you don't over do it. There's loads more we would have like to have done, but we ran out of time. If you're there on a Saturday night my I recommend the Jazz Cruise, free bar after admission fee

Game of pool and a beer in Rookies, it's a mixed cafe so caters for all. Wicked atmosphere, good music, and you've gotta add your beer mat to the door at the back :)

Wake up, get drunk, have a smoke, buy more beer and go for a cruise on the pedalo's. Ah wait you said with the missus didn't you.........nah still the same plan.

Definetely go for a play on the pedalos if the weather is warm enough.

As said above, me and the missus were there a couple of weeks ago and that was pretty much what we did. Only other thing i would add is to go round Anne Franks house, quite sobering to see the small amount of space the familly had to live in during the war.

Was in the Dam 2 weeks ago for the weekend. Went to Anne Franks house but the queues were absoluty massive. Be there early. We pretty much ended up in coffee shops. Gonna go back with some type of plan in the near future though, so we actually do something :)

The law changed earlier this year, places must now be either "one or the other "

Grasshopper bar is split into 3 levels
cafe downstairs
pub middle
restaurant top.

But your aloud to smoke in the pub, so you buy in the cafe then go upstairs to the bar.
