Good scarey games !

Hehe that antlion guardian in HL2 got to me too. You're running as fast as possible, all you can hear is it gaining on you and you can't see how close it is.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth had some 'scary' moments. In general most fps' aren't scary at all because you just shoot anything that gets in your way with a rocket launcher.

I got this game knocking about also. Was given it by a mate but ive never installed or tried it. Worth giving it a go ?

Nothing beats Alien V Preditor - play the human side and when that motion dector goes off.... well.... the faster it gets the faster your heart goes..... Play it with the lights off and head phones on.

go on, tell me you wernt scared, or fell of the chair screaming ' they too close! check the roof tiles! at 3am...

or is that just me lol..

I agree with you there. AvP series, as a marine can be quite frightening.
Mind you if you play as a pred, its less so; and if as an alien- well the fear factor is effectively zero.

When I first ever played Doom III, damn that scared the hell out of me. It was my first time playing on a decent rig, surround sound headphones, huge monitor. Seriously scared the hell out of me for the first 30 mins or so.

by far marine in AvP, i absolutely loved it so atmospheric and threat of eminent death. was amazing. felt like a workout with my heart rate close to astronomical. played it a couple of times. AvP2 was good but didnt quite have the same fear factor.

didnt find much of the other games scary, D3, fear, condemned, a bit run of the mill attempts.

i remember some game i played on the PS2 (briefly at a mate's house) about some camera thingy with ghosts, that was a bit scary imo.

Microsoft flight simulator 2004, landing at night with a 40 knot crosswind and a cloud base of 400 ft - phwwwar.
