E2140, Gigabyte DS3 Overclocking

Hi Guys,

I have a slight problem, my rig is @ 3.2ghz (400x8) in the bios BUT when I go into windows and use CPU ID or Everest they report as being 400x6.

I know it can do those speeds as I bought it from the members market.

Any ideas as to why it would be different? Need to fix it

Have you speedstep enabled?

Put some load through the CPU using Orthos, and then while thats running check the CPU speed using CPU-Z. It should report your required clock speed

If it does just disable speedstep in the bios.
