Good scarey games !

hehe can anyone remembe the game Night Trap ? it scared the No Swearing! out a me dam vampires lol game played like a movie at the time it was great....

it was around the same time as 7th guest :) anyone remember the dam skulls puzzle i almost threw my console out the window becuse of it lol infact the puzzles in that had to have come from a scientist or something .... it was just that hard it was freaky.

hmm about the scariest game hmmm not entirely sure hehe i will have to think about this :D

AVP one without a doubt, playing as marine with face huggers scuttling about in dark places, that bloody motion sensor and flares, you sit there bricking it :D

there was that other game as well.. i cant quite remember what it was called, ghosts in a house.. it was scarey at the time.. i must have been about 10ish, maybe later saying that.

Alone in the dark?

I found '5 Days A Stranger' and '7 Days A Skeptic' quite scary, but I haven't played 'Trilby's Notes' or '6 Days A Sacrifice' yet (a quadrilogy of four free games - http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games.htm; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chzo_Mythos)
I also found some bits of Fahrenheit quite unsettling, and I found Thief: DS quite scary too (the boat zombie level, though I haven't got onto the Cradle yet).

Condemned, easily the scariest game I've ever played.

I played that game in the dark, gone midnight on my own and i had to turn it off. This is the only game i've been scared and and really jumped.

I did jump a little at resident evil games when i was younger :p

FEAR. Call me a scare-d-cat but I still aint managed to finish that game. Messes with my head tbh.

Condemmed criminal origins is a creepy game lol, with mostly melee combat in first person mode, in the dark, ememys comming from all directions, being attacked during the 'evidence gathering/puzzle part of the game'

How can no-one even mention the hotel level of Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines???

SHAME ON YOU!!!

Now that ranks up there with the thief levels already mentioned.

On a side note, please remember that Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines is available on Steam till 4th November for $9.95!!!! After that it goes back upto $19.95 so at that price there really isnt any excuse not to buy it!

2nd level as a marine on AVP2 is the only thing thats got my heart beating so fast I had to stop playing. Very good atmosphere as a marine on that game

There have been quite a few games that have had "jumpy" moments for me, but only a few have I found... unsettling. Among those though, has to be the aforementioned Cradle level in Thief 3 and playing as a marine in AvP2 (we sooo need a third installment by the way).

I'll also mention Eternal Darkness on Cube, which was nicely Lovecraftian. And another little known 90s console game called Shadow Man just oozed a nasty atmosphere. I'll also admit to not particularly enjoying the Orphanage level in the PainKiller expansion :)
