ocz.jpg

if it good, according to the experts in here. im going to order them, i am not going to spend anymore, definatly not, but if there anything in there that is not needed E.g Power can be lower ?, dosnt have to have the cooler ? maybe not that motherboard ?

i dont know ive just been on here for hours looking through everything. so odds are that i am overspending when i dont need to.

phew questions which i have :)

is 3ghz worth getting...i mean i have 2.2ghz 4200 now.....

And i see the amd athlong says 64..like them all....does this mean its for the 64bit windows ?

and allso would the 6000+ work fine with stock cooler ?

cheers;)

Hi,

I'm not to clued up on what AMD bits to get but I am clued up on when Phenoms out...

I would wait a couple of weeks and see what AMD has to offer with the new chip & then, even if it is out of your price range, it should bring the rest of their line down in price.

As for the PSU you could get the OcUK Huntkey 550W PSU for £42 instead as they are ment to be quite good I think. Saves a few quid...

As for mobo I'm not sure and CPU cooler i'm not sure on either.

I also take it you have HDD's etc?

Cheers, Doug.

yeh i have HDD's, which chips are coming out ? sorry being a noob

Well in about 2 weeks AMD are releasing the first of thier brand new line of the Native Quad Cores. They are the first core to be designed from the ground up to be a quad core. Intels duals are two singles smacked together and their quads are two dual smacked together... They got their natives out end of next year.

Even if your not interested in these they should drive down the price of AMD CPUs already out.

I mean, your going for nearly the best chip AMD has to offer atm but in just a few weeks they should have their new and more than just improved cores out.

Of course you could always go Intel as they are still probaly going to be better for price / performance even with the new AMD cores and with the 45nm Penryn cores out properly in Jan-Feb they are the cheapest to run as well...although the AMD's are ment to do good...

Edit: Forgot to ask, what rig you got atm?

my rig at the mo haha :D BIG SMILE..... well the motherboard has chosen its time to die, but apart form that i have.

6200 turbocache..
1gig ddr400 ram
250gb maxtor sata2
450atx psu
4200+ dual core

ABSOLUTE BEAST ! :D

the 6000+ dual.... its basicaly overkill rite ? i mean all games can play 2.2ghz proccesor, i need basically a new whole rig, as crysis im gonna cry if i cant play it :(..

but all that what i picked can work together yeh ?

Everything is compatible but is there any particular reason why you wouldn't consider an Intel? They are usually a lot better for overclocking and comparable in price.

Anyway you could replace the Ram with Geil PC6400 C4 which has equivalent specifications but is a few quid cheaper.
The CPU will support 64bit OSes if you want but also works perfectly well with 32bit XP as well.
Don't know too much about the Coolermaster PSUs but it should be ok.

i know overclocking makes it allot better, but i would like to avoid that as i dont have a clue how to do it, and someoen i know overclocked it to much and it died :p

would it be cheaper if i got a intel and overclocked ?....

example maybe ?

thanks

Ok, these are the parts I'd change, you should be able to get 3ghz+ easily out of the CPU although note in the review of the Abit IP35 that you may need to set the FSB speed manually (could be an isolated incident though). :)
