Moved into a flat a few weeks ago, the previous tennants moved out at least 3 weeks previous to that.
So far I've had about 3 or 4 bits of mail for them: t-mobile, thames water, british gas. Also had a couple of bits from the council - but on the back of the envelope there was a handy form to fill in saying who you were and when the previous lot moved out. So just popped that back in the post.
I wasn't given a forwarding adress, and there's nothing left in the flat to indicate one either. I'm reluctant to contact the letting agents (because they were so useless prior to me moving in..) and waste valueable seconds of my life..
Is it acceptable to just cross out the front of the envelope and write "no longer lives at this address"? All the envelopes have return addresses on the back of them.
Obviously I could just throw them in the bin... but I'd rather do the 'right' thing - that also doesn't involve wasted time/money/effort on my part!
