My short mixing video (Hard trance)

I listen to a lot of trance, and recently been on a bit of a prog/house kick amongst other things but not really a fan of vocal tracks! Occasionally a good one might pop up (Above & Beyond - Home at the moment, it's a bit floaty but JUST steers clear of being cheesy) but generally they put me off. :)

Above & Beyond JUST steering away from cheesy? Debatable. :p

They are very uplifting to listen to though.:)

Anyone download or listented to the "Trance around the world" radio sets?

I likes!!!

Never really been to many clubs that play this sort of thing as they tend to be full of neds.....would love to go clubbing to this stuff though!

Get some proper mixes up.

We had the same little heater thing up the loft aswell!

You really should forget the idea of chavs and stuff. They may be there but it shouldnt bother you as long as they are having as a good a time as anyone else. Some of my best moments have been bouncing with 'neds' sober or not.

Andy Whitby at global gathering for example and Kutski at goodgreef haloween special at nation in liverpool last year. Both have amazing mixing and technical skills. Plus kutski is a legend at scratching too.

I'll watch it at home with stereo, instead of at work on headphone. Sounded great at the start. Get another done

(I know Kahn will probably have something to say about me liking Whitby!) The way he puts 'bounce' into his sets is ace though, really gets the crowd going

I liked it. Towards the end could have had more of a kick each time you dropped the low's then brough them back it.

But well done, a millions times better than what i can do (which is nothing) I tried virtual dj a bit and another virtual mixer and i was rubbish

To be honest with you i see more "Chavs" at most commercial chain clubs that you see in town, if you goto a more underground venue then the people in there are really friendly who are there for the music :)

I liked whitby but im starting to go off him a little, if you see him out his sets sound so similar, he is starting to ram in as much vocal bounce as he can and some of it is quite frankly cheesy, annoying or is completly out of key.

That's a great idea, I'd start it but I can't post a video till next week (no mixing gear- I'm home from uni at the mo) so thread would be off to a bit of a poor start! :p

Got a question about the video by the way, at 29 seconds what's going on? The new track is on the right fader, so does the left track has a double kick you're cutting to?

I was actually in the middle of the mix but when I mix I use the channel faders rather than the cross fader. So when I am mixing, I will put the cross fader in the middle, then bring in the next track by whacking up the channel fader. What I was doing in the 29th second was cutting the track playing on the left deck.

What were the EQs at on the right deck? Sorry for all the questions!

The audio is out of sync with the visuals, and for me it's unwatchable. Every time the sound drops etc half a second passes before you move the upfaders .

That's awesome! I don't think my gf would appreciate me taking it up... but that entertained me. I don't even listen to Hard Trance normally. Please post more!
