Poker ethics question

In a game last night

pot is about 8k after turn, me and one other left in

other player goes all in for 4k and is obviously ahead

I have nut flush draw, nut straight draw and 2 overcards so probably have pot odds, I suppose there was always the option of the board pairing to give him a full boat

as I am thinking it over the dealer goes to deal the river, someone pulls him up before he turns it over but I catch a glimpse and am almost certain it is a club to give me the flush

what should I have done, come clean and have the card burnt and risk another card with reduced odds, keep quiet as I was probably going to call anyway ( whether that is relevant is probably another question )

thoughts ?

There are ethics in poker?

I was under the impression it was each man for themselves, Would the other person have done the same thing? Probably not.

if it was only you that saw it then keep schtum and to be fair it would have been a loose call

in my eyes the hand should have become dead and all chips returned to previous states with such a massive **** up as that.

The other player had already committed all his chips prior to this, just have the card turn. He was happy on the Turn, as were you. I'd have played on.

but the guy hasnt commited everything untill the turn, the river is then half dealt in error and retracted.

the OP then sees that he'd hit his flush and thus calls. Makes an easy decision when you know that you're gonna hit ;)

why is the dealing going for the river when you havent called?

does happen, but if you were going to call, then you were going to call.

if they are mates, it then comes comes down to how friendly yuor game is. id probably take the chips regardless however.

that possibly would have been an idea but if I had owned up the correct move would have been to burn that card and deal the next one afaik

Is there a code of conduct in Poker? Snooker is the only game I play competitively and anything like that would be owned up to.

I used to play Poker weekly and fairly often caught sight of a card I wasn't supposed to, it was always carelessness on a players part though, never the dealer.

oh totally would have kept my mouth shut and raked that cash in, screw them all, poker is dog eat dog.
