ok thats sorted it. Anyone want to show me some nice leather strapped chrono watches. Budget £500 - £800.

I want something funky and fashionable but not something that the "up'er class" would wear though ie elegant and boring

I admire its quirkyness in a way. Its certainly not a 'boring' watch. Not sure if it wins me over though.

Not really, he might not want to get laughed at either

Try looking at Tissot. They do some good looking chronographs with decent enough straps.

You could always replace a metal for a leather strap after y'know.
