Holy smokes! Has anyone seen this Crysis mod video?

:p Go you! Perhaps if they weren't promoting it like it's the be-all and end-all of all PC games then perhaps i wouldn't have mentioned it. Same goes for some people on here; quite happy to big it up as the greatest thing that will ever be, yet when someone picks the tiniest of holes...well, they do what you just did.

Lol I'm no fan boy. Already said that i think the korean AI is quite poor. But I think it's unfair to criticise the game for the foliage jiggle because static foliage would make it look like you're walking through a screenshot, and anything more complex, well, I can hardly run the game on decent setting as it is without luxuries like wind modelling.

It seems that the settings file is for the sand box editor and not the game file. But if you can use those settings you must be able to get the ingame settings the same o_O

I didn't mean to imply you were!

I agree with what you say. Yet the developers have created a fully scalable and future proof engine; you'd think running it on maximum details like this guy seems to have managed would include some better animation/physics on the plants etc.

Even a little less jiggle, or not have it on all the plants would be better.

Don't get me wrong..it does look stunning!

You're right. The game should feature fully functioning weather systems. A game that looks this good should be able to generate gusts of wind based on differences in air pressure and coriolis force. Maybe crytek can add in self evolving hurricanes, tropical storms and tsunami's while theyre at it. Then we can all enjoy a slightly more realistic jiggle of leaves on our 30ghz deci-core systems with quad SLI geforce 12 series.

Check out the Far Cry 2 (not Crysis) gameplay demonstration from GameTrailers. They appear to have pretty nailed this fairly convincingly. It's astounding to watch. If you can't find it, I'll post a link later when I'm not at work.

Tell me which files i have to change and i will give it a try on my GTX.

Its saved settings for the sand box editor. Not the game as I first thought/hoped.

Here's wishing somebody can use the tweak guide from the tweak website to get it running tip top.

That video looks so OMGOMZMZ amzizignin!!!11144432232 becuase of engine settings not becuase of an edited .cfg, they used fog in a dense forest with mega bright HDR and megabright over the top sunrays- does look pretty cool though.

And as for this;

The bottom image only looks like that becuase all it's illumination is ambient and is not being directly lit, hence the flat looking-ness of it.

Saw this on another forum...

Creator's specs: OCed Q6600, 8800 Ultra

And for background info:

Then they posted this video of someone who had unlocked the game to full HQ settings:

Big difference.

Do you realise they are pointing out the TOP Photo is better and thats the way Crysis was supposed to look, not the buggy crap we got in BOTTOM Photo.

THe Game looks nowwhere near what we were teased with from early Photos and Videos and all "running well" on a single GTX. lol

Edit, I see you do mean that and Video needs be seen to see, but I could not get it till today as so slow (must have been many grabbing it as it was posted in other threads here days ago.

cant the guy who made that test level just export the .cry file or whatever it is then export the settings he is using, so others can try the same on their machines?

I was just about to say "I prefer the top picture, it looks so much better than this mod". So the actual game looks like the bottom pic?
