So what do you think of your K850i?

Nice find, killsta :) No mention on whether there is new firmware available though? Mine won't update and is R1CA029 so I presume there's no update at the moment?

Hmm....

Charged my phone for the second time since I got it last week...

It's turned off by itself and is no longer coming back on!

Tried removing battery, sim etc!

If this is broken im not impressed at all!

Few faults I've noticed with mine (on o2) after playing with it for a few hours.

(As above) Flash isn't timed properly, resulting in dark photos.
Volume keys don't work.
The clear cover on the camera will probably get scratched very soon.
Buttons in general are very odd (i.e 2+5). And tiny. No need for touch tone buttons - LG I had before has put me off them for life, menu used to toggle about randomly, too sensitive.

Has anyone managed to get it cheaper than £30 pm on o2? I tried to haggle them but failed. epic.

Edit: Eh? Volume keys have now decided to work.

Overall, I don't think I like it. I think it's poorly designed, the buttons are a joke and no protection for the clear plastic on the camera lens leaves it very vulnerable to dirt and scratches that will render it's boast of 5 MP useless. It's quite slow too. It just seems too gimmicky and tacky and stupid. I liked the previous version better I think. Don't fall for the marketing and get a decent, practical phone. I'm sending it back.

I'm surprised by the number of people turning against this phone... mine's fine, volume buttons work, buttons are wierd but I'm used to them now and texting at light speed like usual. They're much better buttons than on my Nokia N70, that's for sure.

New firmware will likely sort out the volume buttons, camera flash problem, and even the 800's and 810's had problems with the first few batches ;) Keypad lights crashes and such - my mate had to wait a couple months with his k800i for a firmware update before it stopped messing up.

I think y'all should give it some time before recommending people never buy the phone - it's fair to recommend they don't buy one right now until they have fixed those few problems, but I don't think it's fair to throw this phone out into the reject heap - I'm still very very happy with this phone. Certainly the best phone I've ever owned and certainly better than all my friends phones!

edit; not so say problems are acceptable though - after the k800 and k810 had initial problems, I would've thought they'd have the sense to iron this phones problems out BEFORE releasing it

Nah, release the phone knowing full well it has firmware problems just so that they can make some money while all the hype still surrounds.
Showed it to my mate at work who was quite impressed with it and I have to say his positive take on the phone made me double think.
I don't think I will send it back afterall, I can probably live with it.

Edit: (Yes, I showed off my bling and reconsidered as a result)

Ive had this phone for a week now I am enjoying didnt take me long to get used to the new controls...

Only thing I think is wrong is it makes a creeking noise at top of screen when press on it, like its a little bit lose... Is anyone else having this problem?

Had mine a week and love it, whacked heroes on there last night (high quality encode) and watched today at work, the screen quality is fantastic.

Camera dark bug is the only downer, but that'll be fixed soon no doubt :)

Improvements / Changes
- The Media player speed has been increased when dealing with many entries.

Bug fixes
- Improved / fixed flash synchronization, preventing photos taken in dark conditions from coming out as very dark or black.

Good stuff  The flash is my only problem so as long as that's solved, I'm happy! :-) Just got to wait for the upgrade to go public

Not had a problem with my phone and I'm loving it. It took me a while to get used to the square buttons (coming from a D500) but I'm txting at regular sort of speeds etc now. I just love the touchscreen buttons at the bottom, such a great idea.

I've come from an N95 to a K850 as I wanted something a little more sleek and compact. Thought i'd be missing the N95 but tbh i'm not, after using the K850 a fair bit i'm well into the swing of it. Camera is better than the N95 just but its day and night (literally) when taking pics in very low light with its xenon flash.

I'll be sticking with it.

I like this phone, the only reason why I got this is for the camera and it does well.

I have a question regarding the touch buttons - is there any way to configure these?

The left one directs to Media which is fine, the middle points to the main Menu (again, fine) but the one on the right directs to vodafone live which I really do not want there (as there has been more than one occasion where this has been activated accidently leaving).

If it is not possible to configure the touch buttons is there a way to prevent the phone connecting to vodafone live?

Cheers

Anybody here suffering from any of the build quality problems mentioned on Esato?

Such as creaking battery cover and wobbly screen (left to right at the top)?
