Hi guys

I need a TV card for my g/f's new pc but i'm not sure what i should get...
Basically it's for basic usage, watching and recording TV, nothing fancy. I guess being able to record one thing and watch another thing would be great but not at a massive cost! The reception we have is not the best i've ever had so that may come into it....

Ideas please:)

Thanks

Tom

Hi there,

The Hauppauge units aren't the best in areas of low reception, but you could certainly give a Nova-T-500 a try if you must. Alternatively, try and track down a GDI3520 made by a company called Black Gold I think...

I saw a hauppauge one today, and the picture quality wasn't good at all... although it was only a usb one. Still. The image quality is bad enough to put me off of their cards.

because they work unlike the hauppauge ;)

The supplied software has some tiny issues but mostly works ok. mce and vista mce work fine with them though.

Mine is sound! Running in both Vista MCE & XP MCE, however I don't and haven't used their software to date, In all honestly I’ve owned 4 DVB PCI & USB cards and the Compro is the pick of the bunch in picture quality and build there remote is tatty but I use an HP MCE remote, unlike the other cards Vista & XP automatically recognise the card and gets the driver's them self which saves a bit of time :D

Whilst a little pricey, I would have to recommend a Nebula TV-card. Heck I don't even have one yet but it's on my shopping list, don't think you will find anyone say a bad word about them.

Come on OcUK get these in stock!
