Interesting car for ~£6k

In an interesting position at the moment, I fancy playing around with a new toy despite not needing a car as I live in central londres, so depending on what my options are, I may buy an interesting car or I won't.

Criteria:

Interesting - No mondeos please
Around £6k
Something I can play around with on a track/country roads

Immediate thoughts are something like a 172 Cup, but I don't mind going down the route of building a track car, but must be do-able for £6k.

That was never for me though?

I have seen some westfields floating around on PH for around that marker too, although I'm really liking the looks of some 172 cups.......

Corvette LT1. You'll get 300BHP, 6 speeds and 0-60 in 5.1 seconds for 6 grand, plus a whole pile of potential and phenomenal handling.

Extremely tough, reliable beasts as well :D (Provided you get a good one)

Plus you'll be a real man, what with the RWD and all that :p

You could get an earlier L98 engined one for a little less, leaving you some room for mods too, if that were important - like this one:


Or this too is an earlier one, probably putting out a little more than an LT1 but not far off.
