ATI 3870XT vs 8800GT Official review @ Legionhardware

Well according to a more recent review of the GT v 2900xt, the GT is the faster card!

And we don't know how the games were tested, ie, what map, how many players and so on.

Yes, that is what i said- the GT is faster. What i am saying is that the 2900XT comes in at 40% slower in UT3 in that review, but in the one i linked, aswell as your graph, puts it at less than ~10%.

There is another 1- Tomshardware, yes i know there is better but i am short on time!

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/29/geforce_8800_gt/page12.html

There the 2900XT and 8800GT are pretty much even, with the 2900XT holding a slight advantage in 3 out of 4- UT3 runs very well on the 2900xt.

If you look at toms results for World in Conflict it also looks very different. The 2900XT is faster than the GT without AA, but the tables are turned when it is on. The results are 37fps/45fps at 1600*1200 with AA*4, while this review has 11fps/39fps!! It goes from been 20% faster to 350%!!

Sorry but the only people who would think that are complete and utter noobs (not meant offensively), the people here who know their stuff would never say or entertain such a thing. It was obvious from the start it would be very, very similar to the 2900XT. The main goal for AMD here was to increase yields, give it a fresh face, and make more profit from their cards. Hence why DX10.1 was pimped, and performance in anything other than crossfire not shouted about..
why u sorry? :D

their using beta drivers really, i think ill wait a bit and wait for the improvements made by ATI to their drivers, remember the 2900xt at launch it was slower than the 320MB GTS then with advanced drivers it became faster than a GTX in some cases and slower in others but beat both GTS's

Go learn what official means.

Well the real definition of an official review would be a review released or verified by AMD/ATi which of course would be rather biased, as I'm sure an nVidia one would.

I think it's fair to call these reviews 'official' in the sense that they're done by fairly reliable sources and show a true representation of the cards performance.

Calm down Will :p i agree, all reviews on the web from well respected sites are normally referred to as " official " reviews.

I'm not calming down there is always some ****** going on at me, cant even say anything against the 3870 without been flamed.
