Don't get me started with this stupid provider...

Right, I rang up on Sunday and said I would like to pay £100 off my bill, and the idiot took £160 off, then I said no, I said £100, which he then tried to process....I went mental down the phone and asked for his name and a supervisor and he put the phone down...
Every time I phoned back to speak to a supervisor, they kept cutting me off...9 Times I had to ring to get to a supervisor and they still cant offer good customer service.

Has anyone else had any issues with Virgin Media?

To top it all off, they are having 'Technical Issues' with the Broadband so I keep losing connection at home.
I phoned them yesterday to tell them I'm moving to Sky and they begged me to stay but they couldn't offer me anything good for the way I've been treated, then to be told I need to give them 30 days notice :O
I've been with them for MANY years now (Well, when they were NTL) and they still want me to wait 30 days....it's stupid.

Its not stupid, its in the contract, which you agreed too.

Grim you've had such bad service you need to switch though.

I've had no problems with Virgin media. Always helpful. It's in your contract that you need to give 30 days notice. Also, I'm pretty sure that shouting down the phone at the person in the call centre didn't help your case in the slightest.

I've had VM for years and any issues have been resolved pretty quickly - that's just one hell of a bad day you've had there!

Saying that, my conn kept dropping this morning before work, but I couldn't be bothered to try and find out the problem (hope it was them and not me!) - it already made me late for work!

Skidmark, has your connection been dropping for the past few days?
I thought it may have been my system and after several recoverys on the machine, i decided to put Vista on, and still same issue so obviously its not XP LOL

Noticed it for the first time this morning - but I was only on my PC for about 20 minutes.....other than that it's been fine for the last few days. At my friend's place last night his internet conn died twice while I was downloading drivers for him, now that I think about it. If the problem continues, I'll be on the phone to them as well (but luckily I know some folk in the local office).

I won't be on my home PC until tomorrow afternoon now, so I won't be able to respond!

i still work in a call center environment, well supporting one anyway so i know how call centers work lol......They are meant ot give 3 warning but they never did

i have issues with vm every other week :(

my tv and broadband went off over the last 3 days because some muppet from vm pulled a cable up the road and accidentally pulled our cables out of the box, he didn't even think to put them back in

At the minute, when I flick past Channel Five....it tells me I'm not subscribed to the channel.

Other than that, no VM problems for me. No big loss.

Ringing retentions and telling them some old crap that Sky has offered you a great deal, can they match it always seems to work out well.

I hate Virgin Media and will be changing ISPs as soon as I can. VERY poor service.

(deleted a long rant since others will tear it apart).

I had their ADSL for about 3 weeks - it didn't work, their techsupport is an 0906 and took about 5 weeks of being lied to to setup.

went with be - free techsupport (not that I've ever needed it because they always help you over the net) and hasn't missed a beat since activated. I will never use a virgin comms service again.

Well, I get disconnected on the 13th Dec and hopefully have Sky working around that date too....come on 16mb broadband LOL

hehe your having a laugh if you think the sky connection is going to be anywhere near 16mb or anywhere near as stable as cable

and uses BTs ancient lines that where never designed for anything like what theyre been used for

phonelines that in parts are upto 40years old , rotten and just generally crap :)
