Why are there no drivers listed for this on ati's site? Surely they have some, confused.

I have to admit that the Powercolour 3850Pro 512mb is a steel, looks like you can get as good as 3870 performance out of that for 130 quid!

Here is probably the first system that can run Crysis at very high with a decent framerate.

Is the phenom going to be any good? I was planning to build a x38/C2Q system. But now i want that beauty XD. But i guess i need a 790FX mobo...
Id better go to sleep i have a feeling i am going to need a lot of overtime soon

BTW: When are they going to launch the 9800GTX? It is the only single card that can stop this madness.

9800GTX will easilly beat these 3870 X2's, afterall, the 3870X2 is just 3870 crossfire. I think its next year it will be coming out.

We are seeing samples of the Radeon though, and not of the Nvidia..... and when i still cant work out WTF is going on with the G80/G92 debate for the new 8800GTS thats supposed to be comming out soon (ish) so I think the 9 series is a fair way off yet, maybe mid '08 if we are lucky.

TBH 2 types of people are going to buy the 3870x2, people who want serious Flop power, and gamers/enthusiasts with a stupid sized bank ballance. I can see it making more of a splash as a workstation card (especialy with the predicted Floating Point power) than as a gaming card.

9 series will compete with the R700 anyway. Bit like comparing a X1950XTX with a 8800GTX..... different gens of hardware

Indeed....Vista IS gaming

Seriously though it is pretty darn hilarious how we can hack the Vista settings in XP! I do enjoy using Vista but for nothing more than a web and media browser, that is all!

Still to try Crysis with the new drivers yet, thank god they fixed the graphical tearing in the benchie! Iv been too busy playing Mario Galaxy to care tho

How long are these cards? would I get one to fit in an Antec Super Lanboy? I currently have a powercolor X800XL.

I tried Vista but after seeing the resources used from just running Dreamscene made me think that it looked amazing but still not my cup of tea.

I'm the same on the new driver front although I never once tried running the benchie. Installed them last night and was horrified to see the CCC installed this morning but all gone now, phew!

Was looking at grabbing a 8800gt soon but now i might buy a 3870 with one of these EK-FC3870 CF - Nickel-plated

and then add another at a later date .

Good choice, with these later driver updates it looks like with AA the 2900/3870 series have got double the performance boost in Crysis, looks like they must be on there way to wooping the GT's.

Well anything is better than my x1950 pro that craps out of games all the time

going to order the full coverage block next week and then buy one of these cards early december , then i can play crysis & gears of war

By then Crysis should run even better, the patch should deffenitly improve frames and give multi core support aswell so you should be even happier with your 3870

.

been xbox 360 gaming for a while and only really played the likes of footy manager 08 and tiger 08 on pc so looking forward to some dx10 shooters !
