Hiya folks

I rma`d some ballistix memory last month took a couple of weeks to get it back(postal strike)

However upon installing it within a couple of hours im getting bsod`s and lockups i have tried setting mem volts to +3 and +4 (2.1v and 2.2v)

But still getting probs so i put in my 1 gb value select and back to everything running fine.
I wish i hadnt bought it now as my rig hasn`t ran with it yet. how many times do i rma before i ask them for some other memory.

have you run memtest? make sure the timings are manually set, i had probs with my ballistix and same board, seems fine now

Not run memtest again yet but set values manually to 3.3.3.12 and +4 to make it 2.2v and still getting lockups but as yet no bsod.

Also after changing settings it disables my oc(not sure if related)

They are getting quite warm but sometimes wont even finish loading windows so doubt its heat related

3.3.3.12 are pretty tight timings aren't they?

What happens if you run them at stock voltage and timings?

I have the 6400 version and run them at stock voltage and timings on my system no probs.

I mate

after some troubles with ballistyx PC 5300 also ( two dead kits),I´m using it at default ( DDR 667mhz) with timmings at 12-3-3-3 , with only 1.9Vdimm
the ram is cool at the finger touch, and the sistem is completely stable and very fast
asus p5b de luxe ,with the latest bios

I´m using it for the last 5/6 months, without one single problem

in my case, after i drop the recomended Vdimm of 2.2 and start using 1.9V in the memory, the ram is lasting much longer than before:)

Have had about 6 kits go bork on me so far.. gah... bought about 15 over the months lol. Should've learned my lesson after my PC4000 Ballastix DDR 1 fiasco, quite a few of those went including my own.

Ran memtest last night on both sticks then each on there own in both slot 1 and slot 2 showing errors pretty quick then system hangs.

going to rma these then if i get another faulty pair going to ask them for something else.

my system runs great on my cheap corair value select. wish i hadnt attempted to upgrade now
