DX10 and Vista is the future, get used to it. Hardware will soon emerge that is more than capable of delivering storming framerates in DX10 in the latest games.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

No doubt it is, but at the moment it doesnt work properly and feels forced.

There are some major visual differences between High and Very High, but some of the most important changes (realmaps & sunrays) cause very little performance drop. There seems to be some minor differences going from either Very high setting to the high setting but certainly not enough to warrent the massive drop in framerate.
The problem I have with crysis is that a lot of the things that really hamper performance don't really seem to affect gameplay in any meaningful fashion. (IE differences between image detail is minor yet the performance hit is terrible)

Totally different, it was just a different version of 98.
i have a Question how do you Put it in DX9 Mode on vista 64 bit ?
Edit the shortcut, and add -DX9 at the end (outside the quotes):i have a Question how do you Put it in DX9 Mode on vista 64 bit ?
I don't think you can unless you have DX9 installed can you? DX9 is exclusive to XP as is DX10 to Vista as far as I'm aware!
No vista can do either or it'd be in a bit of a fix with every normal older game. We wont have proper dx10 games for years I reckon
