I have stupidly a bought a IDE dvd writer for my new build which is coming on monday, however I have bought this motherboard

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard

Can someone please tell me it has an IDE channel on it :rolleyes:

IIRC Yes it has got a IDE port, but only 1
 
It has just the 1 IDE port, got this board yesterday. and with it being in a Akasa case (I forget the name, the one thats huge) the IDE port is so far away from the DVD drives that the leads are not long enough to reach both an IDE hard disk and a DVD drive :o
 
Yes easily, just not long enough to hook up a IDE drive and IDE DVD Writer on the same channel. At least not in my case, I would imagine in a smaller case it would be fine.
Great choice of board by the way, loving mine, rock solid stable.

the Akasa Zero?

and my DS3R has two IDE ports, mine is a Rev 1.2 though, yours might be a 2.0.

Thats my board and the board the OP has ordered.
Just 1 IDE port and 1 floppy port. R 1.2 here, I think R2 just has more USB ports and no com port.
