Am I the only one here to check through the thread to make sure nobody worked at the same company as them?![]()
What do you mean by that? I've noticed 3 people on here work for the same company as me so far

University of Hertfordshire- E-learning developer/Technician
Its only a placement year job but it's pretty good, I thought I'd be the whipping boy when I got there but I couldn't of been further from the truth.
I basicly make materials for our online learning environment and look after a couple of laptops for the lecturers. Nothing crazy but I only have to go in a few hours a day and can work from home if I like.
I work on offshore drilling rigs - currently in the Southern Mediterranean, off the coast of Egypt.
Not trying to be rude or anything but how much do you earn stan?![]()
Last year, just short of £41K.
Earnings vary depending on what you do - anywhere from about £25K to £80K.
I would be very happy with that if i was you![]()
I would love to earn money like that someday but lately im just after anything that pays more money then my travel expence too and from work.
I currently work for a local butcher on a Saturday.
I get to spend all day cutting up dead cows and sheep and even get a free fry up.![]()
I am - especially since I'm home for nearly half the year (28 days on, 28 days off)
I went through many years of that mate, thought I'd never get away from the grind of working in dead-end jobs for a pittance - this job kinda landed in my lap. Just goes to show, you never know what's around the corner.
I used to do that when I was at school, used to get a steak to take home with me on Saturday (mugs used to let me cut it myself too - more like a small roast than a steak).
Been there since I was 16, it's more of a hobby now than a job, I'd be happy to do it even if I wasn't being paid.
