Where do you work?

University of Hertfordshire- E-learning developer/Technician
Its only a placement year job but it's pretty good, I thought I'd be the whipping boy when I got there but I couldn't of been further from the truth.
I basicly make materials for our online learning environment and look after a couple of laptops for the lecturers. Nothing crazy but I only have to go in a few hours a day and can work from home if I like.

Just out of interest, what are you using to develop your e-learning?

Work for a central London authority as a GIS officer, basically systems admin and project management.

Enjoying it at the moment although i hate local government politics with a passion, wouldn't mind getting out into the private sector at some point.

I work for a well known ISP providing "tech" support ;)

Am also full time student studying Business Management - though am toying with the idea of sitting my HGV licence test and making a complete carrer change :)

I work on offshore drilling rigs - currently in the Southern Mediterranean, off the coast of Egypt.

Last year, just short of £41K.

Earnings vary depending on what you do - anywhere from about £25K to £80K.

I would be very happy with that if i was you:cool:

I would love to earn money like that someday but lately im just after anything that pays more money then my travel expence too and from work.

I currently work for a local butcher on a Saturday.
I get to spend all day cutting up dead cows and sheep and even get a free fry up.:D

Career wise I'm currently looking for work.

I am - especially since I'm home for nearly half the year (28 days on, 28 days off) :D

I went through many years of that mate, thought I'd never get away from the grind of working in dead-end jobs for a pittance - this job kinda landed in my lap. Just goes to show, you never know what's around the corner.

I used to do that when I was at school, used to get a steak to take home with me on Saturday (mugs used to let me cut it myself too - more like a small roast than a steak :D).

I hope theres a corner coming up for me soon then :D

At the moment my aim is really just to try and make atleast $52k AUD a year, it doesnt sound like my but i could make 1k a week go a long way, especialy since i can make $80 last if i try(Well i have to since its all ive had for the last week since i had to quite my last job because it was too expensive) and $600 when i spend it on a few things for myself the car or the girlfriend, even though i really hate being that broke. It wont stay like that once im out of home though, ill have to pay bills then:(
Somewhere along the lines im hoping i can find an $80k a year job if i can. thats my main goal.

Oh how your goals get smaller and smaller the older you get:o

Been there since I was 16, it's more of a hobby now than a job, I'd be happy to do it even if I wasn't being paid.

It was a job I thoroughly enjoyed, if it had paid a bit better, I would have stayed on to to my apprenticeship.
