Mcdonalds Everyday?

Bread, cooked meat, salad, sauce. I'd be surprised if nutritionally they are all that dissimilar. Actually I bet the biggest difference is due to presentation and public opinion, like how Subway put all their ingredients right there in front of you and McDonalds being a bit of a media figurehead for obesity in this country.

subway = <snip> rough cheap processed bread, pointless salad, fattening mayo <snip>

1) Bread is baked from dough in front of you when you queue up - how is that processed?
2) Some people define meat as pointless too, doesn't stop it being an option - not to mention considerably healthier than a McFat burger.
3) So don't have mayo on your subway then.

if you want to eat them go ahead.

big mac = crap processed beef x 2, rough cheap processed bread, pointless salad, fattening mayo.

Rough cheap processed bread? Is that in comparison to smooth expensive unprocessed bread? Actually if the bread is tasting rough then that could mean that it isn't loaded with fat and salt making it relatively harmless.

Also salad is salad. It doesn't matter if it's served on a bed of lard with a thick coating of double cream it's still salad. Although you could get into the organic, non-gm type arguments.

Haven't had lunch yet, still deciding where to go :o

TBH Subway just tastes Crap and they say 100% fresh ingredients when it's really 100% Defrosted ingredients and do you actually see them make the dough from scratch no you just see them bake the dough It's all frozen ****!

Home Cooked Food>Pub Food>Pizza Express>Pizza Hut>BK>KFC>McDonalds=Subway

IMHO

Allready quoted in the thread, but it is SPOT on in my opinion.

People rave about Subway but its Junk. The meats they used are boom cak alak.. Processed and pumped full of water and the cheese is tasteless. Subway for the loose.

To the OP.

Im no nutriotionist, but sooner or later, eating MCD's more than 1 maybe 2 times a week is asking for trouble.

I bet you are one of these people who thinks that you need to eat a low fat diet to lose weight?
A friend of mine weighs 70KG and he eats a lot of food all day, his metabolism is just very fast that he just doesn't gain weight and someone else only has to look at some food to gain weight :p

I always thought that mayo wasn't that bad for your health?

They (a reaserch group) replicated the "Supersize Me" diet and found there was a neglibible gain in weight and no health risks.

Which means, either, Supersize Me was faked or overdramatised (the writer was a vegan), the new research was corrupt (was peer reviewed so unlikely and v. risky) or it is dependant upon the body type/genes.

(google it)

Well let's look at the stats...

Large Big Mac Meal:

1190 Calories (47% RDA), 13g sat fats (43% RDA), 3g salt (50% RDA).

That's here in the UK, in America they have much larger portions.

Exactly! Mayo is just eggs, vinegar, water etc.

Some people equate the word "fat" (as in food containing, not in people) to poor healthy, obesity etc. Fat doesn't make you fat. Eating more than maintenance calories makes you fat.

Mayo has a lot of oil in it.

edit: and i just want to add, all these people who say "i eat a lot all day and never get fat" i've never seen a single one eat more than me, i've had dinner with friends who think they eat a lot and were self conscious about being slim/skinny and trying to gain weight and i would have considered it a snack, lol.

I'm well aware of the nutritional breakdown of oil, thanks. However, it still goes noway to explaining why "mayo is fattening". Salad could be fattening if you ate enough, as could bread, potatoes, fish, cheese, ham, fruit, etc, etc.

Individual foods are (in 99% of cases) not bad - it is quantities of them that are the problem. I eat mayo quite regularly, yet am 12% bodyfat, simply because I am careful with portion sizes, exercise regularly and put consideration into what I eat.

so a high calorie food product that contains a large amount of fat isn't fattening in your eyes?

No.

No moreso than eating a handful of olives and almonds.

Mayo doesn't make people fat.

Eating too much of Anything (if that is mayonnaise then so be it) makes people fat. I wish people would take a bit of responsibility for things and stop blaming foods when they become obese.

By that comment alone you've shown how little you know about food and nutrition.

I bet you are one of these people who thinks that you need to eat a low fat diet to lose weight?

you bet wrong, don't make assumptions. i eat what i like when i like. i am 6ft 2 and weigh 12.5 - 13 stone.

i exercise at least 3 times a week so don't feel the need to diet or lose weight.

however you obviously know everything about food and nutrition.

big macs and subways are bad for you, plain and simple. if you want to feed your face that crap thats your choice.
