I started reading this book last night at around 4pmish... i finished for the evening at 1am.. read it with a around 2-3 hours worth of intervals..

It, so far, is an AWSOME book, i love it, i think his story so far is just, totally unpredictable, i wouldnt of expected to read most of what i have, what a life this poor dude has had..

I dont wana bring up any spoilers becaus eim only on chapter 9 - 'The sweet smell of success' 173 pages into it, just wanted to discuss how much of an awsome book this really is...

Please dont spoil the ending for me as im reading the rest in around half hour...

Seriously though, what an amazing book, what do you lot think? What other books do you reccommend i read if i like this one so much?

Let me know your thoughts and comments..

James.

I quite like Gordon Ramsey specifically because he has no patience with ignorant buffoons. If you watch how he treats people who at least try hard, he's entirely fair.

Thank you James.

I will take your recommendation and buy this book pronto. Seriously. Looking forward to it.

Thanks. :)

Read it and really enjoyed it myself, i'm a GR fan which is why I was bought the book, but it's surprisingly good.

Might have a read of it. Can't say that I'm the type of person to normally read Biographies of "celebrities" but I do have to say that I think Gordon Ramsay is a decent bloke, and I would be reasonably interested in finding out how he became who he is.

Been devouring all the Gordon Ramsay content on Virgin On Demand over the last week too. Kitchen Nightmares is excellent!

I can't remotely stand Gordon Ramsey, let alone bring myself to read a biography of him. Like someone above said, I also don't understand why people read biographies of the modern day celebrity.

I've never understood why people bother to read biographies of dull celebrities.

I can't understand people reading about vacuous, know-nothings like Jade or Jordan, or of people who haven't really done anything yet such as Wayne Rooney, but I like reading about people who have worked hard to acheive something in their life or how have been though terrible times and come out the other side then it's a different story.

I'd quite like to read GR.

I guess I don't see him as a celebrity, but just as a talented chef who has built a business empire (a very difficult thing to do as a restauranter) after his first career dream fell through.

Recently I've read (auto)biographies of:

Peter Sellers
David Niven
Richard Branson
Aung San Suu Kyi
Waris Dirie
Peter Cook

All very good and I'd recommend them to anyone.

his life story and actual talent were enough to make him interesting. now he is just a parody of himself, encapsulating elements of the reality tv era and underlying craving to break america.

was once an impressive man, now the wrong people are impressed by him.

on a par with simon cowell with regards to spin - he has created a machine.

too many brand experts and pr consultants urging him to create the ramsay brand.

Not read this book, but i hope his new Kitchen Nightmares series picks up the pace a bit, supposedly a new series but last weeks episode was 45 minutes of last years 'Campaign for Real Gravy' one with about 15 minutes of him ranting at the end, looks the same for tonight too!
