hi i just got home from my m8s house after spending large amount of time trying to overclock his comp, thank god i didn't blow nothing up lol.
well i started off with 2.13GHz CPU and ram was working at 800MHz.
first problem i like to ask is should i run the Ram Linked or Unlinked, unlinked i can enter the ram speed which would be much esyier but linked will have a ratio. now which option should i choose and what are avatanges from the other option?
well ignoring that for then i managed to overclock the CPU to 2.64GHz with 1.375v(windows apps said 1.35 =/ which one should i belive?) and Ram was linked with ratio set to Sync or something which i dono what it is but if any other ratio will go over 800Mhz and wont boot due to its quad pumped. any higher FSB the computer will suddenly restart at random times which i guess its due to FSb not being stable correct me if i was wrong.
well walking back home i was thinking anbout what his components can do and i fought:
his FSB is Quad pumped and scince high FSB is the problem i will lower it to 100Mhz and quadpumed makes that 400 and DDR will make that 800 using it to its fullest potential. then the CPU went up to 2.64Ghz so to get that back up i can increase multiplier from 8 to 27 giving 2.7Ghz, but i was thinking there must be a side affect to increasing multiplyier so high so i came on to ask what is the side effect.
