*Unreal Tournament III*Thread :o) Game Pics & Performance.

can't wait to get back into some fresh UT goodness, been waiting a long time for this one..*dances*

Roll on the weekend.

Plan is to stock up on beer, takeaway pizza and a lock in :D

Don't wanna take this too OT, but the weapon balancing in Q3A was perfect. If you thought the MG and GL were useles then you weren't using them correctly. The Q3A BFG was a bit silly tho, granted.

I did try and give it a chance till i'd completed it a few times, and i guess it's because i went from ut first to q3, even though both were out relatively the same time. But UT's alt fire had spoiled me by then so i seemed as if i was going back a step. It came to the point i would just switch weapon or grab anything asap in the case of the machine gun, unless i had quad damage.

The nade launcher was tricky to use in any sorts of fighting, you'd think it'd be ideal for z fighting, but because it bounces u have to hit dead on, unlike on the flak cannon where secondary shell launcher explodes on impact. Though it does have a quick rate of fire which is where it's usefulness shows in covering an area with nades.

Definetly more excited for this than I was for Crysis, partly because UT is my grass roots, It's the game that brought me into PC gaming (some awesome memories of 1999 UT fragging :D), just hope that 3-4 days is enough to get form Jersey, what does everyone else think?

You'll get it saturday, same with most ppl here.

Ordered mine from a hermit, apparently comes with a tournament number for entering a UK lan party bout with a prize going for £20k.

Not that i'm entering of course, but i just thought i'd share that useless piece of info with u lot.

I cancelled my Jersey pre-order I had at the same price, since their delivery has been shocking as of late.
Twice now have I waited a week, and sometimes more for any item I ordered in stock.
Hopefully not the same for their games.... but I was NOT going to take the chance

If that happens, it happens. I have more than enough gaming goodness to keep me content this weekend (COD4 and Crysis to get into :D)

Hope it turns up quickly for ya though... but I just cannot wait any longer! :P

:p, It's all up to how quick the post is, the company I ordered from have shipped it in a timely manner it's all about how fast the post is now. Im pretty confident I should have it on Fri/Sat :)

Its funny I was reading the Eurogamer review, which seems reasonably fair. One of the few critisisms they leveled at it was that it doesn't change the basic gameplay in any big way.

I remember reading a PC Gamer Quake III review, where the reviewer actually commended ID for keeping it plain simple and just like we know it.

Its weird how the times change. The influence of the class base/tactical multiplayer games has definately raised expectations.

I personally hate delayed spawning in multiplayer games. It's in COD4 and TF2, and it drives me mad. I love the frantic twitchy action of the old school genre. Roll on UT3!

Also waiting on Jersey for this, not overly bothered though, since I have plenty of other games to occupy me aswell as a ot of uni work!

Ive been ordering from the basingstoke lot for a while and I know getting it a day before release isnt priority and to be fair my crysis copy arrived on release day, however just checked and my UT3 copy hasn't been dispatched...and I paid for first class delivery. Ill be mighty annoyed if my copy doesnt arrive friday. Anyway, I honestly cant wait for this, I can see myself spending some good hours online on friday if it arrives :).

what extra does the full game have please?

how many more maps etc?

are there any space/spaceship/modern maps? cos i'm not keen on all this dungeon gloomy stuff.

Also its years later, how much fun can virtually exactly the same gameplay be time after time? They do tweak things obviously but normally the biggest upgrade for quake\unreal games is the graphics..(which the diehards immmediately set to look utter crap) and almost bugger all else.

I enjoyed the origal UT, 2003/04 not so much =/

Haven't tried the demo yet but really enjoyed UT99 and UT2K4. I'll probably just grab a copy Friday/Saturday anyway :D
