I only like Miss Machine by them, so hopefully this is as good.

Sunshine the Werewolf is a masterpiece.

Giving it a listen, and I'm not struck with it so far, although Lurch was alright.

Ok, ok, i take it back... its very very good after you've digested it a bit!

Shame that their only seems to be about 4-5 "proper" songs on it, imo.
But what's there is very good :)

Suppose it gives it a good overall listen though.

It's definitely their most accessible record too, by a long shot.

Edit...
Oh and "When acting as a particle" has a segment that sounds like the "sinister" music from Lost :p

I don't enjoy this one much actually. I've not given up, but after a listen or two it's not doing much for me. Miss Machine was much the same at first though, so it might grow on me yet.

For reference, "Irony is a Dead Scene" is my favourite release of theirs, I'm not one of these people who think they've gotten worse with every release :p (and my appreciation of that isn't just because of the vocals, I like Greg's vocals just as much).

Mine too actually.

You can tell they DEP are influenced loads by FNM and Patton in this album. Track 3 especially.

I don't know, as much as I love albums like Calculating Infinity and all the insane tech stuff they did, I think DEP suit the super catchy style of Ire Works moreso.

THEY ARE SUPPORTED BY BETWEEN THE BUIRED AND ME!

HOW COULD YOU LEAVE THIS OUT?!

If I could use one word to sum this band up it would be

Messy.

definitely marmite band.

I didn't like them either when I first listened to Calculating Infinity, but it eventually sinks, lol. Haven't listened to Ire Works, but the thing I loved about CI was the underlying quirky, twisted darkness in the music and not forgetting the technical insanity.

Ire Works - Not keen on it so far. "Did they miss the 'D' out?" Ho, ho. Sorry.

Not even as good as Miss Machine, let alone Irony Is A Dead Scene [though is anything as good as 'When Good Dogs Do Bad Things'? I doubt it...]
