Call of duty 4 - are you in the 55 club?

Ranks really mean nothing, they are too easy to get. Although I'm disappointed at not having anything to work too (the challanges are good though, still lots of them to get!) I'm happy that I've unlocked everything and there is no pressure at racing to the top.

It would be cooler if they got rid of ranks and gave weapons/perks out by completing certain challanges.

Yeah still working my towards it here. Brigadier General at the moment, about 43 I think. Aiming for the Barrett mainly but loving the P90 with silencer. Would love to get silencers for the snipers like in the game, now that would be awesome. Playing hardcore servers seems to give huge point jumps. Got 1912 for a single TDM game to 1300 last night.

I have to say though, I have played BF2 since it came out and really only focussed on the ranking until I got the guns I wanted. For last 12 months I haven't really paid attention to it and just enjoy gaming. COD4 seems very much the same to be honest, the maps are cool, we need some new ones and the option to put two attachments on the rifle (ie: scope and silencer) but on the whole it is damned good jump in and play multiplayer which I am not finding with Crysis. Crysis' multiplayer just doesn't seem to grab me which is a real shame.

When people were level 55 a mere 48 hours after the game went on sale you know they've not really thought the rank system through properly.

Maybe they designed the rank system for those that have lifes? I don't know. I've put in 20 hours and only up to lvl 40. Thats 2 weeks of COD4.

It would be cooler if they got rid of ranks and gave weapons/perks out by completing certain challanges.

Terrible idea. All you would see is people running around trying to knife someone to get the knife challenge. Just like what ppl do on xbox to get their gamer points.

To be honest, instead of whining about how quickly it took you to get to rank 55, maybe you should take a good long hard look at your lives and ask yourself what 29 hours spent playing a video game in the space of a few days means? Enjoy your empty lives whilst you can :p

Congratulations on saying that, have a cookie, now get the **** out.

There's nothing that gets to me more than people like him, coming into a gaming forum and telling people to get a life basically. Who do you think you are? Are you saying you don't spend time doing things you enjoy? if that's the case I feel for you, realy.

You just wasted one minute posting in a GAMING forum, OMG, think about it long and hard, was that a waste of your life? I think so!

just want to say COD4 rocks I'm literally itching to play it every evening but have to keep the other half happy so must limit my time.... I'm level 9 or 10 can't remember which. Although I've a feeling it doesn't register your points at times a I did about 15 deploy radars before I got that ticked in Boot camp section.

Prefer smaller servers (16 players) and under and also servers that don't rotate through the shipment map. Please server admins delete that from rotation unless you want you server to empty.

Enjoy the Domination and conquest gametypes superb game and easily the best MP game I've played in last 3 years.

+1

The rank system is a gimmick anyway to keep you playing it for a few weeks so you get hooked if you are only playing MP to get to 55 then think there is nothing to play for I suggest you try WOW. :D It has 70 ranks :D

What i don't get is that some 55s are poor players who have oviously used their clan server to gain all the unlocks which clearly every clan should be doing if they are going to play in a league. :)

Nah I mean it.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but if you have 30+ hours to waste on a game in the space of a few days, you have serious issues - seek help.

This is a gaming forum, well done for noticing, but that doesn't mean I don't have a right to express my opinions, which in relation to this thread, are as follows:

1.) Anyone who has reached level 55 in less that 2 weeks is just existing for the sake of it.

2.) The fact that you have left the game to come in here and moan that the ranking system promotes too quickly means that you expect to give much more of your time to it to see the rewards, woe for society.

By far the majority of people playing this game will not have such empty lives and will probably only be able to get in a few hours here and there, so the ranking system is perfect because it means they can be promoted without have to wait ages between ranks.

So, my conclusion is that you sad gits should go out and see the world a bit more, because ironically it will actually increase your enjoyment of the game when you do have the time to play it! :p

5 players on a clan server can get quite high in a short time.

I remember on BF2 I bought the game late and had to "level up" had most of my medals in 1 night due to empty (ish) unadminned server and several mates willing to let me knife, gun down blow up and do what I wanted to them for a couple of hours. Same for COD4 really.

Rofl, you realy are funny.

Rank 55 = aprox. 25 hours, over two weeks, that's 1.5 hours a day.

Left the game to post here? I'm at work fool.

So yeah I see where you're coming from, we realy are "sad" and spending "30+ hours to waste on a game in the space of a few days". No idea where you got few days from, the game's been out two weeks.

By the way can you explain the word "sad" for me? If one is "sad" what does it actually mean?

Does it mean that paticular person is not following the exact human stereotype? So, you're saying we should all be exactly the same, and follow the same routine every day, right?

I would simply love to be you - that is all.
