Fighting a dog

The avergae man on the street would almost certainly take a pretty nasty beating from an angry rottweiler, it's all very well to talk of all the techniques but if you not used to being in this type of situation you'll be an adrenaline adled mess. Watch a few streetfights you don't verfy often see lots of fine technique demonstrated.

Personally as has been said i'd like to think I'd go for the eyes or the ears as they have to be week points but to get to that stage the chances are the dog has knocked you to the ground and in slowly consuming your face!

Now these are dogs that were bread For tyhe sole purpose of Dog fighting. The reason they are called the "Pitbull" is because the "Pit" is what dogs were made to fight in.
If it grabs hold of you there is Nothing you can do to get it uff because its jaw will just lock and will not release.

Set a gorilla onto the dog - that should see it off pretty quickly. Once the gorilla has flattened the dog you might need to get hold of a polar bear to protect you from the gorilla, or possibly an army of trained monkeys with batons.

apart from choking it out maybe, if that's even possibe?

They arnt very tall but the weight of it on your arm will pull you off balance and then it will latch onto your neck.

PitBulls are the most dangerous dog IMO, if they go off they really go off, They were bread for 1 purpose and thats to fight other dogs, And there jaw locks when they bite with enough pressure so it cant be opened.

They aren't very big though, I can pick one up and slam it against a wall until it does let go... or my arm falls off :p

Also the whole jaw locking thing is a myth.

It may be a myth but could you get this off your arm?

A Pit Bull named Aidan was measured at having a bite of 130-235 pounds

Just got a St Bernard cross alsation. I wounder how that will turn out when it becomes older. It's only 6 weeks old. Probably a big fluff ball :p.

Id take the safe option and run/climb over/up something.

Then throw a brick or something at it

Thats how i would do it:D

Although ive heard of a story about a bitbull that got shot in the head 7 times before it stopped=/

The only thing you can realistically try and do is to either try and get to safety, failing that, do everything you can to protect your neck and face.

Anyone remember that story in the papers after the Hurricane Katrina. Two pit bulls had escaped into the bayou during the floods and were attacking a fully grown bull  The bull was flinging the dogs twenty feet away in the air, but the dogs just kept coming back - it was basically a question of who would get tired and give up first, the bull or the dogs.

Fortunately the national guard soldiers were on hand to shoot both the dogs.

kick/punch in the nose. Although proper dogs are hard as nails, not those rat dogs and the like.

One of my mates used to have a Japanese Aketa(sp) I used to wrestle with it and it was very strong (it didnt bite properly either as it knew it was playing)

Akitas were bred for fighting (and killing) bears.
