Just A Quicky - Receiving Texts

I have a SE W950 on Orange and was wondering if any one knows of a way to disable receiving texts. I want my phone to be able to make calls but not be contactable, calls have been diverted to a false number so no voice mail message can left but I am struggling to be able to diasble incoming texts.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I doubt its something you can do via the handset, you would need to give Orange a ring directly.

Shame as I wanted to be able to enable and disable when required.

how about deleting and later re-adding the last digit to the message centre number?

thats only for outgoing messages

Yeah, you'd have to do this at provider level.

Thanks anyway guys - seems a bit stupid that phones do not come with an option to be uncontactable but to still be able to make calls - not just the on/off button.

May I ask why you want to be able to do this? Can you not just reject calls and delete texts before reading?

Might as well just keep it turned off or in flight mode until you want to make a call

w950 is symbian right? There is SMS software out there that can dirrect SMS's into a folder you can ignore until you want to look at them, but how this would be different to your inbox and just ignoring them i don't know? If you don't want to read texts, just ignore them?
