E6600

My HD's are where most people tend to put the pumps, I guess if the rads where on the back I could put the pump nearer the back, but I do like the look of the complete external units, hmmmm decisions decisions!

Im stable at 3.42 @ 1.45v

Tried to get to 3.6, upped voltage to 1.475 as Orthos was only lasting a few mines, on CPU test only, but then started to BSOD

Whats the max and settings other people have?

Cheers

Mine needs 1.424V exactly. 400x9 rock solid tested in orthos for 13hrs+ Using an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro + Corsair HX520 PSU, solid as a rock.

In my Antec 900 case with all fans on medium and the 200mm on high it idles at 22C and load is around 55C as reported in coretemp. No need for watercooling in my situation.

I get 28-30c idle and I'm on water, of course I am cranking a lot of vcore through it as well though.

Quickly rising to 60+c on load.

Seeming that you idle temp isnt much lower, what about your load temp? cant remember if you posted it above?

yes about 55c....just guessing but they would probably be in the high 40s if I was in the 1.4ish vcore range. Also my waterblock is an EK Wave, quite a good block but is really outperformed by newer blocks like the Apogee GT and Dtek Fuzion.

Mines running as per sig. Only need 1.375 volts through it :D

Its running at 425x8. Motherboard didnt like the x9 multi passed 3.2ghz.

that idle temp of 22c sounds very difficult to believe unless your room is very, very cold

Yes, I was surprised at first, but it's true. With my thermaltake soprano case it idled at 35C and at load 70C. With my Antec 900 Case it's at ~22C idle, 58C load and the thermal paste hasn't even fully cured yet.

Anyway, here's a screenshot I took just now.

*Ignore the 6x multiplier, I have EIST enabled*

Who needs watercooling when you have good temps on air? :D

sorry buddy but what those have to be mis-reported, unless it's like 2c in your room.

What does it say in the bios?

I highly doubt it, with my thermaltake soprano case my idle temp was 35C and 70C load but with the Antec 900 it's now at 22C idle and 58C load. What's so hard to believe? The system temp shows 26C and the core temps are around that ~22-24C. I have all the 4x 120mm fans on medium and the top 200mm fan on high. Keeps everything cool.

The thing is, it's really a physical impossibility unless your ambient temps are close to freezing.

There's no way an e6600 can idle a few degrees above ambient with an air cooler

but you haven't said anything about BIOS temps...only speedfan temps which are notoriously innacurrate.
