*****THE OFFICIAL***** MASS EFFECT THREAD

About 4 hours in myself, still running around the Citadel, doing all the side quests and talking to everyone I can. Love finding out information about alien races, policital situation and history of the whole universe.

Playing a goody at the moment, but man, after seeing all the conversation options, I'm looking forward to playing a bad ass "Shoot 1st, to hell with the questions" character :D

There's a certain joy in piling on the renegade points, especially in the manner you get them ;). And, for the first time ever in a RPG I've actually have been disappointed by getting goody points.

A slight downer today though was running in to a tarted up block shifting puzzle. I solved it (somehow) and then got wiped out in fairly short order a few minutes later on. Of course there was no auto save between that test and me getting pwned. :( Not a nice puzzle to have to solve twice I must say.

Finished my first playthrough as a renegade and loved some of the bad guy options :) now created a female goody two shoes (full biotic class) for some variety.

27 hours in, and I'm in no hurry to finish the main story.

I'm regretting choosing a Vanguard, as I'm not really making much use of the boitics.

Can't wait to play through as a bad-ass, I'll probably go for either Sentinel of Infiltrator.

loving it at the moment, playing as a renegade soldier and just taking my time through it. not using really but on my next playthrough i'll go as a goody biotics user.

Argh, I think i'm on the last bit and my gametime is just 24hrs in @ lv39 :(

have you done all the side quests as well???

I'm on 15 hours play time and havent even got all my 6 party members, started any of the 3 main missions from the citadel and only done about 5 sub quests....

I am not one to rush through games, so I'm just playing casually through. I've done about 15 or so (not really counted) side quests so far, and undertake a main storyline mission about once a day. So over the weekend I did two main storyline missions and about 6 odd side missions...

The side missions can get a bit repetitive as most will soon find out. As for my earlier mention of being on the last bit, I was slightly wrong but I am close. Still I'm not complaining give the level of detail and replayability we have. This has blown Gears of War off my No.1 360 game slot.

Exactly the same. I'm 5 hours in and still on the Citadel. Loving just running round doing as many side missions as I can.

I'm just gutted I haven't had more chance to play!

Wow. What a game. Usually don't like this style but i have to say it's fantastic. The storyline is just so compelling; i can't put it down. I'm surprised at the lack of mention here of the music in the game - i think it's stunning.

Think i'm about level 7 at the moment, 5 hours in.

playing as an Adept and loving it, get Throw and Lift up a way and you really do kick ass!!

Does anyone know if you can have 2 playthroughs on the go at once? For excample if I now started a Soldier, would it keep my saves on the Adept seperate?

I managed to get about 7 hours in over the weekend, and the missus didnt seem to mind :D

Im only 4-5 hours into the story though as I just kept restarting as I wasnt happy with my character. In the end I went for a male goody two shoes soldier. But on my next playthrough im going to do a female evil biotic specalist.

Out of interest though does anyone get annoyed at the AI of your squadmembers?
I always run forward into cover then just as im about to pop out and shoot one of the little munchkins decides to stand right next to where im hiding, getting shot to hell, and trapping me in place. ive also been stuck in a corner by them during a timed mission. Highly annoying.
But seriously thats my only quibble with the game. The lift sequences may et annoying but I like the little news broadcasts and chats that go on in them at the moment.

Progression wise I think Ive completed all but one of missions that is totally in the citadel and im now out into the open. I just dont know where to go :D

I'm loving this game as well.First time I've got a collectors edition of anything in ages but well worth it!

I spent about 15 minutes just deciding if my guy should have green or purple eyes lol! I turned off Film grain and motion blur.. I can't see why their on by default as the game looks miles better with them off. The graphics after Eden Prime look miles better now as well. Still in the Citadel taking it slow enjoying the sights. :)

Best game i've played in years, I prefer it to Kotor, And I loved that!! That may be blasphemous to some. But ah well.

I was struggling in the beginning, but now i'm used to it, I kick ass, And the story line is great, character interaction amazing, Customization fantastic.

All in all. Loving it. And I think Tali is great...Wonder if you get to see her face. NO SPOILERS!! :p

Really loving this game. It's still a toss up though of whether I would take this or Baldur's Gate II with me if I was stranded on a desert island.

It's just staggering that none of the conversations are text only- it's all voiced. Also, the depth of the lore is fantastic. People are comparing it to Star Wars but I think that's unfair. Despite the fleshed out lore of the Jedi, SW aliens seem to be 'here is a green alien, now here is one with a blue trunk'. I love reading ME's Codex entries- it really puts you in the universe. The reason why the Krogan are warriors, how Asari are all female yet not asexual, down to what colour the Normandy is when travelling faster than light and how many balls a Krogan has :D

Kainz wubs Tali :o At first I thought she was a spy because she was always hanging around the engine room. Then I realised that she is a Commander Data (Trek TNG) wannabe and rather nice even if she does rabble on a bit.

This is now my best 360 title as I said. Incredible visuals, great use of the engine when you compare it with Gears, lots of places to explore with brilliant characters. I'm still waiting to see what that crazy fan character is up to because I am getting suspicious of him now. I just wish there was more content!

Btw folks, there is the Mass Effect novel on a erm well you'll all know where to find it. It's about £5 so I've ordered it because it apparently fills you in on a lot of key characters and history.

Best BioWare game to date I think - it's lived up to all my expectations, so I'm very happy :).

Revelations is an awesome book, I read it before I started Mass Effect and it was so cool seeing the characters I read about in the game :D.

I know we've all just got this, But how possible do you think Mass Effect expansions will be?

Think about it, All those planets that are Survey-able but not explorable.

They could drag this franchise out and out and out, And I would accept that franchise in my home, and in my home, and in my home.

:( just under fifteen hours playthrough as a paragon

loved every step of the way and enjoyed all the interactions between the characters

the only downer i can really think of (apart from some technical hitches) is the way i can see it being so similar to kotor... but that hardly matters

some of *** acheivements make future playthrough better aswell which is a nice touch, for example getting 'geth hunter' makes my shields mroe powerful and the pistol mastery allows future characters to specialize in pistols even if their class cant, just nice touches
