Just in the process of updating my orange n95 with the new version of firmware.

change log after update guys:
New Welcome application
* New camera software and tweaks from the 8GB model - FAR faster shot to shot time, with 'Processing image message' during any delays
* Long press on camera button launches camera if shutter is open
* New My Nokia SMS tips and mobile web portal system
* Demand paging of ROM apps!!!!!! 30 plus MB free after booting!!
* Search 4.0 integration on standby screen
* Old multimedia menu still there, i.e. it's not the new style
* N-Gage game previews (FIFA, Asphalt) and portal/shortcut to upcoming N-Gage client, as in N81 and N95 8GB
* Nokia Music Store client, although the store server hasn't been updated to handle the N95 yet - maybe this'll happen later today

Nokia N95 Software version 20.0.015 released - 26 November 2007

This software version includes battery, stability & performance improvements enabling you to run faster and longer - giving you up to three more hours of music (up to 30% increase, from 9h to 12h of music playback). This release also includes a new version of Nokia Maps which provides faster positioning, faster Map Loader, and free 3-day navigation. Phone updated without any problems.

I have a 3 branded mobile, would there be any direct problems with the use of the mob on 3 if I were to update the fw (other than voiding the warranty)?

ok well first off, the update was easy enough. its quite a bit faster just navigating through the menu's but wether thats down to my phone being bogged down or not, i dont know yet. just just applying the backup now
 
Finally an update for the n95, i thought they had forgotten out it!

Downloading now, hope it fixes my random restarting problem as i expect thats down to memory :)

Lol same, i just like regular updates :p

It's good to know that nokia do update their phones quite regularly, but it does annoy me that they hold back key updates for slightly older phones to make people upgrade. Meh, i suppose its just business tactics!

you won't be able to update to this if your phone is branded.
 
updating mine now.............

It's turned itself off and its at the Nokia bootup screen for the past 2 mins now...is it normal ?

EDIT - it worked ! :D
 
Ok...one niggle, since the update it now stretches or squashes any photos to fit on the "Desktop" without any scaling where before it used to scale to size a bit. Now not at all.
 
Updated. All very nice but two issues:

- Lost my Three theme despite a backup. Can anyone send me a copy? (I assume this is legal)
- T9 no longer lets me select alternatives - when I press 'down' it exits t9 (word no longer underlined, cursor after word). Am I just being stupid perhaps?

Pressing 'down'? :S I didn't even realise that changed the word. I've always pressed * !! :p
 
So anyway, updated, and argh, ok so there's a new Search thing on the desktop which might come in handy, but still no option to change or remove what active desktop items like there is on the E61!!! Wtf! I don't really want to have

No calendar entries today
WLAN scanning off

taking up a good quarter of my screen. :mad: Good job I have a plain wallpaper, there'd be absolutely no point having a photo of anything because it would just be ruined.

Oh dear - it worked in the 3 firmware I had prior to this (came with the newest at the time, so didn't bother to debrand). and in all the SEs I'd had before. This could take quite a while to relearn...
