*Unreal Tournament III*Thread :o) Game Pics & Performance.

anyone else have problems exiting the game? it just sits on a black screen for me, and then i have to reset my comp :(.

have to say i am enjoying it so far, even the single player is quite fun, kinda like singleplayer bots with a little story to go with it :)

This is the 1st UT game i've realy got into, it's truly awesome.

Few problems but i'm confident they will be patched.

Would anyone be up for a duel tonnight? :) Add "oaL" to friends and i'll be on around 18:00. Like I said i'm kinda new to UT games, but i'm half decent.

I bought this on Friday and I've played about five hours of it since then (SP only, not been online yet) and I've had one crash so far (the PC rebooted shortly after I'd enabled hardware OpenAL, which can apparently cause problems) I nearly didn't buy it after being very underwhelmed by the demo, particularly the washed out, murky look of the graphics, but I have to say that once I got a chance to play the real thing, maxed out with full size textures etc, I was a lot happier, though there quite a few levels that I think are just far too grimy and dark. Sanctuary, Onyx coast and most of the Asian themed levels are amazing, very otherworldy atmosphere; I realise that there are quite a few problems with this game, but the levels they chose for the demo don't really do the game justice IMO.

“1. I do not have a PhysX card, so should I be selecting hardware physX or not? (For now I have it selected)”
Hardware physX only means you use the PhysX card for extra FPS. There is no image difference.

It's a shame they don't have proper portals now instead of teleporters with pictures on ;).

I was also pretty underwhelmed by the demo. I didn't have any intention of buying it after playing the demo, but for some reason I just had the urge to go and buy it on saturday. Glad I did. Was also happy because a 4 letter high street gaming shop had it marked as £34.99 but was only selling for 24.99 at the counter :D

Pity I'm still a bit rubbish online.

Is there a Face Classic or something along those lines thats similar to the one in UT2004?

I've been wondering about "Face" too. Haven't come across it yet though. I have red it will be included in a bonus pack from EPIC whenever they are released.

Good game loving it so far. Loving the Gateway way level very cool.

What are peoples favourite levels?

That Gateway/Portel level was awsome.

Is it normal that the Post Processing option reverts to Default after shutting down?
I have to set it to Intense everytime I fire up the game, which is annoying.

Awsome, I hope to be enjoying some instagib CTF tomorrow or wensday when my propor copy arrives, I hope I will be able to get the hang of normal D/M with my crappy 800DPi mouse.

Use the -nohomedir shortcut addition to the game icon and reset your settings after loading the game, they will now stay!

anyone ????

I've tried forcing AA on in the nvcp profile under the 'unreal tounament profile' and renaming my exe to bioshock.exe but still no joy ?.

You need to use Vista and DX10 for AA.

Allthough try using Nhancer and renaming the .exe to bioshock.exe and loading the bioshock profile in Nhancer and setting the amount of AA, I'm only going by the fact this work in DX9 with GOW and since UT3 uses UE3 just like GOW it might be possible.

Currrently, UT3 does not support any DX10 features (Mark Rein says maybe in a future patch it will). The no AA problem seems to affect most Unreal Engine 3 games. I do believe that renaming the file and using a Bioshock profile (even from the nvidia control panel?) will allow you to use AA, but cannot confirm.

EDIT: I think using one of the newer Nvidia drivers solves the Anti-Aliasing thing...

Update your drivers, those are prehistoric AFAIK. There were also lots of UT3 performance improvements with some of the drivers after that set so get updating.
