Ok I'm going to take a risk here, I've got a fiarly light grey suit and I need a shirt and tie combo for my christmas party. I've got green eyes and light short cropped hair. 6 ft and slim. Any fashion gurus got any ideas :)

Thanks in advance

I'm just waiting on my guru license arriving even though i posted the certificate last month.
I suppose it will be okay to give you this info as un-licensed.

White shirt and light blue tie.

black shirt with a white tie...you'll look awesome ;)

Please say this is a joke.

Best to go for a classic look and perhaps not take any risks. Maybe a white shirt and single colour tie (perhaps pink or light blue?) or failing that a pale pastel shirt with a single colour tie again (perhaps slightly darker).

Sometimes it's best to go for the simple option and look presentable than trying to hard and failing :)

As has been said plain white, quality shirt that fits like it should (So many poeple where awful fitting shirts!) and a plain tie or very lightly paterned (different shades of the same colour). It's a classic for a reason ;)

Does the suit have a pin-strip or chalk-stripe? If so, which colour and how wide? Avoid check patterns on either the suit or shirt (generally).

Tbh, I'd ask for help from the assistant particularly if you're going to a proper shop like Thomas Pink. Even Department Store staff tend to know their onions about what makes a good/fashionable look (note : these are not always both the same thing ...)

Then when you're sorted for suit/tie combo it's time to go pimp on the shoes! Blue sude shoes with a 4 inch, clear glass heel with a goldfish swimming in it. Do it.
