Guys,

Im considering buying this router, ive just purchased a house 3 doors down from my parents and i plan to allow them to use my internet connection (no legality comments here, i dont need to know!)

If anyone owns this router i would like some information from you;
*What sort of distance/coverage do you get
*Can the unit be wall mounted?
*Where exactly on the unit are the RJ45 ports
*Your comments/opinions

Before anyone reccomends a different router i need gigabit ports for my wired network as i do huge file transfers between my media center and server.

Thanks

Yer i need to know info on this one as well, as im thinking about buying it

Is there anyone out there with this router!

fot this router myself and have had it for a few months now. Got 3 pcs connected to it via wireless using N cards and I can walk down my street and still get a good signal on my macbook with it lol.

Theres 4 ethernet ports on the back of the router and the antena can be pointed in any direction. As far as im aware it cannot be wall mounted though but I'll double check tomorrow just in case.

Done quite abit of gaming on it and sending large amounts of music to my networked buffalo harddrive which is also connected directly to the router itself and to be honest ive not had any real major problems with it. Theres also a new firmware for it which makes it N2 draft compliant and for the money its awesome.

Iv just bought this router, All set-up, turn the laptop on and... no stronger than the G... guess i better buy the N card:rolleyes:

Il be able to give feedback once i have the notebook N card, i really hope its worth it.

well you cant exactly expect n speeds when using a g card hehe. definately worth it

Yeah i know, thye didnt have any cards in stock, but i went ahead and bought the router anyway, still got the better range with my G card though.

Could someone explain what the difference is between the Express Card and the Notebook Card. Whatever one i get will be for a laptop.

Looks like the notebook card has a better range, alhougth the wording in the spec is 'up to 1,400ft'.

$20

Seriously though when i had the old n1 belkin router and the laptop n1 card there was no difference in speed it still connected at 54kbs.

After seeing no real joy from the D-Link DIR655 and some compatibility with some of my wireless N clients I've been looking at this router and so far it looks good. I assume anyone that's got it has not had any freezes or dropouts after running torrents/uploading to youtube etc?

Would be GREAT to find out thanks as I can put my 655 on MM :)
