McLeish leaves Scotland for Blues

Don't take anyone with Youth on their side as they will just up sticks and **** off at the first club calling. With this in mind, we're not left with much. Ideal picking would be Craig Levein though but he wouldn't take it. Years still in him at club level.

I will properly cry if Billy Davies takes over Scotland.

We need to be looking for someone who is experienced and Scottish. So... Alex Ferguson then?

EDIT: I did know Billy Davies was Scottish. I also know he is rubbish! I also know Sir Alex will never take the job.

But........... Scotland is a big job.
Why on earth would he want to leave the mighty scotland to be manager of the 3rd best team in birmingham?

More money in it, which means more apparently.

Really hope Davies doesn't get it, doubt he would get the needed respect from the players.

3rd?

Fergie wont do it, hes been there done that

Moyes wont do it, hes got a decent team at Everton

Billy Davies did great at Preston with mediocre players, he can do the same for Scotland

Bad move for McLeish. If he took us to the World Cup, he'd get a job in another, bigger and better premiership club. If he gets relegated with Brum, he'll become just another Championship manager.

Billy Davies was born in Glasgow, btw...

Davies certainly wouldn't get my vote....I mean even in his quotes.....

Billy Davies said:
"I am very keen to consider every single offer," added the Scot, who began his managerial career with Motherwell in 1998.

"I would not knock anything at the moment, I am open to offers anywhere, even abroad. I have got no barriers to anything whatsoever.

Far too desperate for any job by the sounds of it and because this job opens up he's in there quicker than a rat up a drainpipe :/

The Berti Vogts era has left people blinkered to a Scottish only Manager.....Does this have to be the case?

errm, while mcleish did well, its basically over a year before world cup qualifiers even start, and then its 2 years away from world cup if he could get in. its basically very VERY little work for someone whose, 48 i think i read today? as birmingham coach he'll have a hectic job from today, with a game this weekend. as scotland coach he wouldn't have a real game for well over a year. most people really don't want the job for that long because, its difficult and day to day theres not a whole lot to do is there. no reason he can't go back in a couple of years either.

what i can't for the life of me understand, brucie isn't having a great season why go and spend so much on him. For Bruce, birmingham have a i think, quite a bit better chance of staying up this year so unless he's getting significantly more in wages, why go to wigan?

its like charlton last year, why go and get a manager thats doing really badly at another club, why charlton thought pardew would save them i have no idea.

not to sure why birmingham have been so poor either, they've got some really good players, maybe just not enough firepower, though, striker whose name eludes me just got back and he really is very very good(the ex chelsea guy).
