Coupe/Sports car for 8k

See i was considering an elise. How is the ride comfort though? See this would be my every day car. Im young and silly, and quite happy to have a silly car for every day use. Im not willing to be uncomfortable on long drives though.

If you are using it everyday, forget it unless you have the money to fix it all the time and don't mind getting wet in the rain. Its comfortable to me (but spartan) but I don't use mine as a daily.

Well my insurance should drop quite a way next renewal, and i fancy something a bit more fun. I guess i can only get quotes at the time, but i cant see it being worse than what ive paid in the past!

With insurance in mind, would you change your suggestions?

You need an MX5. An Elise owner doesnt need to chose between an MX5 and an Elise. They just know. If thats not you, the Elise makes too many compromises.

And i definitely wont be mocked for having a ladies car?

I'm sure someone will! But see previous posts!
Will be cheaper to run than an elise and more useable as an everyday car! Take one for a spin and see how you find them. Driving with the top down is great!

Is there anything to look out for when buying an MX5? Do they have versions with a solid roof, or are they just clip in jobs instead of a soft top?

Up until the latest model it was an optional extra, so if you get a hard top make sure you get the softwop at the same time :p

I'll have to look out for one with a hardtop then.

Tuned to the nutz Mazda RX-7.

Can be picked up at a reasonable price, stick the change in your back pocket or fling some more tuning mods at it.

There are loads at good prices on Pistonheads just now.
;)

Always fancied an RX-7, if and when the bambino appears and I decide to get rid of my Aprilia RSV, something fun to drive will be required and an RX-7 will be my first port of call.
