Was Crysis Overhype?

I don't remember them saying the game was this short and easy, I finished it all in one night, the combat was pretty boring and involved cloak, shoot, hide, cloak, shoot, hide, repeat. "yawn"

Only good part of the game was the last part with the aliens but it was too short, I was really supprised when I realised it was the end, I thought I was only 1/3 through the game at the most. :eek:

Agree with the AI comment, completing it on Hard and the AI still just stood there at times, this was a let down as it took me away from the experience when it happened, but it didn't happen too often so I didn't let it ruin the game.

I never said you couldn't insult Crysis, in fact I just said it runs like crap and has bugs?

I think you need to go back to the drawing board and realise you're not talking to some Crysis fanboy who thinks it's some pinnacle of gaming perfection. You're just talking to someone who has played both Crysis and COD4, loves them both equally (for different reasons) and knows that it's both artistically and technically Crysis a far superior game when it comes to graphics. Anyone who says otherwise is simply wrong.

And if you'll notice, I am also keeping on-topic in regards to CPU utilisation.

Like I said: Go back to the drawing board, go play COD4 or something.

Aye it is a bit easy with nanosuit abilities, but i'm going to use it if it's there! :D

Tell the whole story instead of your usual half facts.

He said it would need a 8800GTS (320 or 640 anyones guess) to run MAX with 1280's and for 1600's or above need more powerfull hardware (so we assume thats GTX/Ultras), he did not say 10-20FPS and states playable if you go and read the info.

Your the LIAR, I never said CoD4 had better Graphics than Crysis, also You cant talk about opinions, you hijack the OP's thread with your views on his opinions, it was nice and tame till then, all you had to do with list a few remarks like we all did.

Now you admit it runs like crap, whats the point of playing it then, why not wait on patches ?, because IMO, at Medium it looks no better than some other games.

Slyvester, use some of the old grey matter when you use keywords in search.

And there is no right or wrong way to play a game if he completes it he has done it correctly.

Um right but my point stands...

My GTX runs it maxed @ 1680x1050 with 4xAA Edge AA at around 35-40FPS AVG, how is this 10-20fps and unplayable?

My friend conveniently has a GTS 640, he plays at 1280x1024 Maxed with a slightly higher avg FPS IIRC, it definitely was not lower.

Once again, both setups are playable at what Cevat claimed so how is he in the wrong?

WTF, you've been banging on about how he's not wrong for saying Crysis is better looking than COD4. :rolleyes:

Unless you're now admitting that Crysis is the much better looking game.

Also, as I said, I've been discussing CPU utilisation between correcting people with bad eyesight. And the OP doesn't even specifically say that the game was overhyped because of quad-core support, it's actually pretty open to interpretation and the graphics after all were part of the hype.

So the problem is they included something you didn't like? But because it was there you had to use it?

The whole point of the game is to use the suit. If you don't want to cloak, shoot, cloak. Do something else. Crysis is so amazing because it let you create your own experience, I doubt anyone on here has played through each level the same as the next person. So many different paths and options to explore.

If you find the game boring it's because you're boring.
