*****THE OFFICIAL***** MASS EFFECT THREAD

Just completed, clocked up 32 hours.

This game is a rare gem, held me from start to finish, something that very few games do to me these days. The last part of the game went full blown epic.

Just about to start a new career, time to be a renegade :D
 
The middle part of the game with all the sidequests can be a bit of a slog. The missions get kind repetative - planets are the same but with the different colour, and I think there are only about 2 different buildings on all the planets. Land, drive to building, clear it, leave.

Without wanting to spoil it, there was a mission where you had to visit 4 bases in the same system, before it led you to a "final" base. I was expecting some huge base and a big firefight - was shorter and easier than the others!

The main storyline missions are fantastic though.....but I just have the urge to see and do it all.
 
When you restart i know you can carry your stats over but 2 questions

What happens when you go from a Solder > Vanguard or something because you will have specialist bars for the class?

and after completing it once does it unlock both Hardcore and Insane? or just Hardcore?
 
i was under the impression that if you chose the same profile, so already pre-ground, that it remained the class it was before hand, ideal for hardcore/insane mode i guess

WHAT? Did you even do ANY of the side quests?

I've been playing 12 hours and I haven't even touched the main storyline since leaving the citadel.
 
well after hours of sidequests ive got back to the main quest, dont the mission on noveria now after that woman goes crazy then i let te alien free, now onto the dig site one.
 
Does anyone get dirty disc errors occasionally with all the steaming from the dvd? I've had quite a few in the main Citadel so far.

I do yeah, but i dont know if its my 360 or the disc. Thr drive spins down and goes silent, clicks a couple of times, tries to spin up again, drops back to silent, then I get the message about dirty disc
 
Just finished.

Very good. First game like this I've played. Ending was pretty neat and definately ends one chapter and sets it up for ME2.

When's that out then? Got a taste for this now :)
 
Just took the plunge and bought this. Really not my type of game usually but I do want to like this so I'll be making an effort to give it the time it deserves.
