FahMon "ETA " Hung message

I have noticed the above error in the FahMon client.

As a fresh folder what does this mean, can I just restart the associated service?

Just means that the service is stuck. It does this on one of my rigs when it tries to upload some results. Just restarting this fixes it usually. Or just get fahmon to poll the client again and sometimes it just becomes "unhung".

It's common to see the Hung message for a couple of minutes. It usually goes back to normal. It's a Fahmon problem, not a client problem, providing the log is up to date.

I did that and all appears well.

I have been through the setup guide and I am running the client as two services, I take it each service processess it's own units?

Also the machine folding is a Windows 2000 Server I use for storage at home, it is a E6600 with 2Gb RAM, can I run the SMP client that people talk about, if so how do I go about doing it?

Yes SMP works with 2000, XP, and Vista so you should be good to go - pretty sure SiriusB's guide covers the WinSMP client also these days (link in his siggy)

Am I not better running Linux in VMware or have I misunderstood ??

Nah...not on windows....

I think thats multiple instances of linux in linux from vmware...

I'm a UNIX admin and I don't understand how the linux set-up works so if you can understand it. Please explain it to me?

Well that would work also, depends on how much memory you have really as there's extra overhead needed for VMware and a second OS - SB's guide is a good place to look whatever SMP solution you want

One of my clients is now showing a yellow square with the ETA shown as N/A and the PPD 0.00

I have reloaded the client in FahMon but is is still displaying the same info.

Do you have the Show/Hide FAHlog option enabled in the Monitoring menu?

The log is a far better indicator of what is currently happening.

Yeah ignore the error messages in the top window and just keep an eye on the log file read-out.
