Right at the start of the act he's upstairs in the inn at the party you're supposed to attend - most of the other main characters are there too until you go, so go sooner or later :). He might be at the bank instead if you're doing the related quest.

I am on Chapter 4 and have not played for a week as I have been busy with Mass Effect which is also a very good game. I feel guilty not playing as it is that good, but I also like my favourite games to last as long as possible. Also I believe they will be releasing a patch which will disable the autosave and hopefully load times will improve.

Would a faster hard drive like the Samsung SpinPoint T 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache improve my loading times or is it an issue with my memory. At the moment I have a 380 GB or something Seagate SATA drive that is 1 to 2 years old. I am not the only one having slow load times, but some of you do not appear to having a problem. Some areas are taking over a minute to load.

I think it's just the game in general, though I think clearing some of my saves (autosave saves too frequently for my liking) out of My Documents\The Witcher\saves helped a bit. The Trade Quarter was the worst bit for loading as it's probably the biggest area, so after Act III loading times get better. The performance is a lot better than NWN2 as well, fortunately.

I think I was the first one to post about deleting the saves and that does help. Yeah the performance is better than NWN2, but the big problem with The Witcher is the amount of times you have to move from zone to zone. When you are in the cities and towns it does get a bit much. If it were not for this issue this game would be a perfect 10. I do think that the engine works very well for everything else, but for this reason it may have been the wrong engine to use.
 
nerver noticed slow load times tbh.. I'm on a raptor, but it's one of the old 1st gen ones, so can't make that much difference.

Maybe later in the game the areas get bigger or something, I'm still only a bit thu ;)

I've just completed it, i got the ending where he has a fight on some guy then takes mask off, who is it!!! i dont get it!!!
 
erm this is embarrassing but what the hell do you do after killing the intruders at the start of the game? Someone is asking me if I'm alright but nothing happens. Doesn't look like the game has locked up.:confused:
 
hey guys Im on act III I have chosen my allies but want to complete this werewolf quest......

I decided to let the werewolf live.......I have to inform Vincent meis to tell him to love carmen or summin :p

Only problem where the hell is he?:eek::( I checked the dungeon in evening and morning any ideas please guys?:o
 
also before I go to the meeting (i think nearing the end) I still have not done this kikimore queen quest people are on about......

Have I missed it or is it still to come :)?

defo! and there is a new patch to be relased in december.....! might sort some of the niggling problems like load times, slight quest bugs etc.

But other than that this is best game i played all year!:D

I had the choice between shani and triss. Does it make a difference who i picked?


In honesty I like them both and would like to two time them both and have the best of both worlds but I guess thats not part of the game :(
