My friend at work got an Xbox 360 at the weekend for his christmas. He took it home on sunday evening, plugged it in all excited. Went to play his first game and all within 5mins it was dead, 3rrod:eek:. Brand new may i add:).

My mate bought one from a supermarket then turned it on and it was RLOD straight away!

Took it back and got a new one from an independent store and got a new HDMI one.

Perhaps not a fast death then, i never expected it they would go so quick, perhaps after some usage. But not turning it on and loading a game and dying within 5minutes.

Microsoft and the quality standards of the 360 is laughable.
They are lucky that they are such a powerful company in a commanding position. Can you imagine people putting up for it if they made cars? I'm so glad Microsoft don't develop hardware/software for medical equipment like heart monitors :)

Are the newer HDMI ones any better ?, you would hope they would have done some thing buy now to sort the problems out.

I'm sorry to say your husbands heart monitors BSOD'd...we were able to reboot it in time, but, i'm afraid, the 3RROD finished him off :(

You never know what the future will bring :)

Well they developed the 1st revision of BMW's I-Drive system (based on Windows CE) Thankfully my motor has the 2nd (vxworks-based) revision :p

I picked mine up the other day to test as its a christmas present from the missus. I turned it on for the first time and had the 3 red flashing lights. I removed the hard drive and firmly pushed it back on. Turned on and it worked fine so was doing the profile bit and when I was changing the screen setting to 720p for my telly it crashed and got the 3 red flashing lights. Turned it off and back on again and it was fine and I was playing on it for a good 6 hours straight.

You sir are clearly a liar.

Many people on this very forum have stated to me, semi-factually, that Microsoft have fixed the reliability problems and that any new models with the new cooling are not susceptible to the RROD problem.

Are you sure it was a new model with the improved cooling?

Also are you sure your friend was "using" it correctly? It has often been implied on this forum that people's machines that break very suddenly do not know how to use the console correctly.

Bold statement to make towards me isn't it. I certinaly wouldn't lie over an Xbox360 dying:rolleyes:. Was just speaking to him at work before i finished and found it rather funny so thought i'd post on here about it as quite frankly it's disgusting it broke so quickly. Sorry, he plugged it in for 5mins, what exactly was he doing incorrectly? Sat it on the shelf, turned it on, loaded up game and it happened.

I dunno if thats serious or not?lol:confused: Why would he lie about it? Theres not much you can do wrong in using a console surely? Standing it upside down? Forcing the wrong cables into the wrong holes? Balancing water on it?

edit: nevermind lol
